Yeah that's proper shitty, surely it could just be thrown down the pyramid - £2m each club in the champ, £1m in L1, £500k in League 2 and the rest to grassroots football charities etc. An extra £5m on the P&L of a Premier League club is fuck all good to anyone

Bring in European refs, the standard when we were in the Europa was far better than in the PL.

Look your payed to do a high pressured job and payed well. Stress, criticism and scrutiny is just an occupational downside unfortunately.
I’d say to the PGMOL look at it from the clubs and managers view point.
It’s a job they know they’ll be heavily criticised, the pressure they’re under isn’t life and death frankly which other jobs are and payed a lot less.

Unfortunately for the PGMOL their employees are in an industry that doesn’t allow much time or breathing space, it pretty much demands improvement on season by season basis. The attitude of “give us time” is a none existent luxury nowadays.

Our refs do a lot better when refereeing in Europe. Bar the obvious exceptions it's not the refs it's the ridiculous standards they are told to uphold

Maybe they’re better when they aren’t so familiar with the players they are reffing? Familiarity breeds contempt from the players. I doubt the penalty against RAN versus City gets given if the ref is harassed by players he doesn’t know yet City players get in Pawson’s face and suddenly the whistle is blown.
