The Football News Thread 2017/18 - everything not Wolves

Shocking draw for the neutral. If Millwall plays Spurs and it kicks off some how or other in the stands either verbally or physically can I point out here and now that it's only a minority

And that the media always pick on them?

Yeah and people who highlight it are making it up/doing it for attention

Reading have a piss poor away support, but I am surprised by the lack of a Burton turnout. They aren't dead yet.

Wimbledon got some pitiful crowds in their final couple of years at Selhurst when they were drifting along as a zombie club. Not sure they ever dipped below 2k though.

Probably due to the fact that a large chunk of the attendance hadn't paid for the ticket - my youngest was at a Primary School in North Surrey at the time & we were forever getting free giveaway tickets

Watched a fair number of games there with only travel cost

Ah, they did have one. 13 Sep 2003 (might even have been their final ever game at Selhurst) - 1,054 vs Wigan.

I stopped going before it got to that point as son had lost interest in football & I wasn't going to pay for a ticket! Last time I was there would have been 2000 or 2001

Burton don't really have much of a support. They are a none league team who has massively overachieved who the town has by and large got behind. Ultimately though many of those who have been going all support another side so once the novelty wears off they are back to the core of a none league side plus some younger locals who identify them as their team. It's amazing they have got to the level they have, but ultimately it's not sustainable

Home record this season is P15 W2 D2 L11 (last home win was on 16 Sep) so if they have a subsection of fans who sort of follow them and go and watch if they're doing ok but otherwise aren't too bothered, that'll be why there's a drop off.

My mate says the main reason is the football has been terrible under Clough. Attendances had already started dropping off early this season.

Even just reading those comments this guy just needs so much education.

Sadly I've heard comments from similar people in similar roles, albeit a few years ago now but the majority of them are still eorking in football.

A lot of banner just to say their owner is a bit a cunt
