Okay. That is fine. Perhaps, as an assessor you could walk us through the referee performance, giving us your thoughts on those contentious decisions?

The only one that was probably wrong was the last one. But it's more the circumstance and handling of the whole situation that make it worse

Why did the referee get Leicester a point, but cost them all three? Sorry but I cannot understand that.

As pointed out by Paddy, without the poor decisions to send off Vardy then Leicester were winning the game without a doubt as West Ham never looked like getting in the game and then as they were going to lose he gave another shocking decision and awarded Leicester a penalty for absolutely nothing. Even if i said i think Vardy dived (he didn't) he got all the other decisions wrong and that surely isn't good enough. On top of that if those in charge of the referees think he got the decisions right and think it was anything other than one of the worst refereeing performances most will have seen then i'm worried.

Sorry but I cannot. To assess a referee you need to be at the game, but for what it is worth:

Both yellow cards for Vardy were correct. For the first one Vardy challenged the player from behind, and on the second one he made such a meal of it, combined with his pirouette, that it is little wonder he was shown a second yellow.

The West Ham penalty was a little soft, but the referee had warned the players about holding.

The Leicester penalty was also soft, but Carroll made a forwards tackle, and invited the decision.

Though assessor so are not allowed to comment on penalty decisions. The referee gives those based on what he sees, and that is his opinion, and we as assessor so cannot question that.

I thought West Ham were well in the game before the red card, Adrian barely had anything to do and they were making most of the running. Don't think it was in any way a foregone conclusion that Leicester would have won if Vardy had stayed on, you can't win 1-0 forever.

The first one wasn't even a foul for me.

So the West Ham penalty was soft but the referee had warned the players. Cool. Excellent. Explain why Leicester were denied exactly the same penalty then.

Generally I disagree with any statement that follows the "ref has won/lost the game for them", there are simply too many variables in football for that to be true in any case barring a last minute PK.

That doesn't, however, mean that Moss didn't play a part in the outcome and have a horrendous match.

To compound his error, Vardy should have had a penalty in the first half when Agbonna threw him to the ground at a corner. One rule for one....

It was as poor a referees performance as I've seen in a while. Question for Frank, how do you make a backwards tackle?

There was one by Huth on Reid in the first half that should have been given for West Ham. The ref clearly spoke to the players before the set piece (Morgan had got away with another grab minutes earlier) and the big lug still cops both arms round Reid's waist. It had been going on all game and the ref decided to draw the line.

It's a soft penalty but if I'm a Leicester fan I'm more annoyed with Morgan being thick and taking an unnecessary risk - as well as losing Reid in the first place with shitty marking - than the ref for giving it.

Similarly Vardy shouldn't be trying to con the ref into giving him a penalty (which is absolutely what he did) and instead concentrating on getting a shot off on goal being as he was goalside of Ogbonna. Don't give him a decision to make, especially when you know you're on a booking.

All that is fine Dan, of course it is. But it ignores the elephant in the room of the challenge on Huth which was at least as bad as Morgan did.

I agree with that, i was of course exaggerating as we will never know what might have happened and it was still only 1-0 but like you said his decisions had a massive impact on the game and the end result.

Aston Villa are stumbling from one disaster to another. Now Agbonlahor has been suspended

I'd say it'd be a bonus rather than a disaster if they can find a way to sack Agbonlahor for gross misconduct and never have to pay him another penny.

never been relegated, now a house of cards that had one of them accidentally open a window with a slight breeze... :)

The cynic in me says that the club are desperate for him to be sacked and are quite 'happy' at the negative attention he is attracting from his behaviour.
