To be fair, even if he scored it, I'd still think he was cocky for taking the risk. Definitely wouldn't be thinking of him as a genius. When players do that, I tend to think it is more about them being showy than actually just making sure they stick it away for the benefit of the team.

I agree. Just grates on me that you won't hear a bad word about Pirlo who does the same.
