Just watching the linked video, I can't see anything coming out of his mouth. Low resolution clip though. Maybe it was more obvious on tv?

It was blatant on tv. How he can deny it i'm not quite sure and for me the FA should extend his ban for not admitting it.

Only a still, but seems pretty conclusive he spat, whether it was actually at Cisse is his only (in my view weak) defence, unless he can convince people it was accidental.

I guess I'm a bit biased as I've always been a fan of Jonny, but I really can't see that collection of lightly shaded pixels being without doubt a glob of saliva.

Yeah, that's pretty obvious. Just couldn't see it on the YouTube clip. I could see him make the mouth gesture, so to speak, just couldn't see the flob.
Not a leg to stand on.

Nevermind. This video has to seal it for him. What's he thinking by denying it?

What he's probably trying to claim is that he was spitting at his feet. But I guess that makes it slightly less disgusting but just as guilty

Jonny Evans has denied his spitting charge. And the FA will be arranging a disciplinary hearing tonight.

OK, maybe I'm missing something but

Jonny Evans spits first and then denies he did despite blatant evidence, unnecessary hearing called and gets 6 match ban. Cisse spits in retaliation, admits offence immediately and gets 7 match ban. What am I missing?

The ban for spitting at an opponent was raised to 6 games, and this is what both players received. Cisse got an extra game ban because he had already been sent off this season.

Interesting potential U21 team we could field in this year's finals (except the keeper, who I think is terrible).

That's twice in a week I've agreed with Barney Ronay, we should have a proper go.

Sweet reaction to a Jozy goal

I agree. Other nations take the U21's far more seriously than we do. We should take the strongest team possible (although, I never advocated that policy when Pearce was in charge due to my irrational dislike of him as a manager).
