Forest cannot register any new players at all until they have paid Peterborough.

Martin Ødegaard registered in Real Madrid's champions league squad.In-sane.

West Ham escape with a 70k fine for playing Sakho v Bristol City

It was a pretty silly rule tbf.

Bristol City say they are considering their options as they feel West ham should have been kicked out.

He is a West Ham player so they had every right to play him if he had regained fitness. I presume that some sort of medical evidence was required when he was pulled out of the ACON?

He was definitely unfit when the squads joined up pre-tournament. Wasn't in West Ham's team for a couple of weeks.

Milan looking to build a new ground. The San Siro is iconic but very run down these days, plus in common with most Italian clubs, they don't own it (and it's too big for them these days as Serie A attendances are rubbish). 48,000 seater.

That overhead view looks like a load of shopping trolleys pushed together.

FIFA rules though, if a player is injured and cannot play for their country they are not allowed to play for the club whilst their nation is competing.

It wasn't injury that was stopping him from playing for his country at the time of the cup game though was it, it was only because he was unfit a few weeks before and thus missed the squad. Not really any different to Wolves having Dicko available recently when he'd missed out on the Mali squad because he'd been injured for a while before the squads were announced, the rule only really works for one off games but even then they don't happen at the same time as club games, unless they're at a lower league club, whole thing just seems a bit pointless.

That Milan ground looks gash.

Difference is he was called up and pulled out because of injury, hence why FIFA were involved.

I read that as '#we are McMillian' at first.

Surely it should be #ForzaMilan/Rossoneri as well? Why is it in English?

Just seems a nonsense, needless rule which benefits no-one.

About right for FIFA.

If you are ruled out by injury from a squad you cannot play for your club while that call-up is active. Senegal were not eliminated until after the Bristol City game. Strangely, West Ham declined to pick fully fit Sakho for the league game straight after when they could be forfeiting league points as Senegal were still active in the tournament.

I went to San Siro in the summer and while it is obviously a famous and iconic ground, it did seem pretty grubby and old! The museum was great though!

Apparently the prize money for reaching the 5th round is about £20K more than West Ham's fine.

Can't come soon enough. It's one thing Barbara Berlusconi has done well, trying to push forward the commercial and sponsorship side of things. Roma and Fiorentina also have plans in the pipeline for their own stadiums which can only be a good thing for Serie A.

I get the rule but I just think its pointless.

No-one gains anything by having that ruling in place, the player was genuinely injured at the time the squad was announced so fair enough he dropped out. What's the use in forcing him to sit on his arse doing nothing for a month or so when he returns to fitness because his country are playing on a different continent? He's a professional footballer, just let him play, it's not like he faked the injury to stay at West Ham and play every game for them whilst the ACON is going on.
