I guess FIFA kind of agree with you, hence the fine rather than what should have happened.

The rule rarely gets used when Tournaments are on as they are played outside of league seasons.

Outside of our league season anyway, must have happened before with players who play in say Scadanavia or the US you'd have thought.

Maybe Senegal are just whining bitches then and FIFA did the bare minimum to shut them up.

It's incredibly brave from him to come and speak about it. It must be terrifying.

I like our new name! :)

Yes,it's happened that players have been barred from playing club football in this scenario.Mostly South/Central Americans playing summer comps like Copa America/Confederations cup whatever.Costa Ricans mostly.

The rule has to be there,or clubs would just say you're staying home lad. :)

Fuck it, what's a 'n' between friends eh?

Absolutely nothing mate! When you replace an 'i' for an 'a' too, that's when I climb up on my high horse. ;)

Yeah, i've got no excuses for that one, the 'n' on my laptop is a bit stubborn so i've maybe got a bit of an out there, but then again i might have typed the whole thing on my phone so it's all just shit. Screw it, i'll just blame Mr Waldron, if that big prick had done some proper geography in lessons instead of rocking on about China's 1 child per family nonsense then maybe i'd know how to spell these nations/regions better. Fuck you Mr Waldron!

No excuses hey? :)

Can see both sides of it, hard to know which way to lean without knowing the full story but as Little says, he's been caught something like 5 times now drink driving and thrown himself into traffic on a busy road, whilst Carlisle is obviousbly liable to find himself in a dark, dark place it seems he's increasingly becoming a danger to others as much as himself, so whilst he obviously needs help and support something also needs to be done to make sure he can't bring harm any others too.

Difficult one.

As Little says himself, even if it wasn't his intention he comes across as inconsiderate and crass.

On Carlisle, I don't know anywhere near enough about mental health to know what it can make you feel and what it can drive you too. All I can say is I hope he gets the help he needs.

Yep, probably nearly as terrifying for the poor sod of a lorry driver he decided to jump in front of ! It happened to one of my contractors a few years ago, he didn't eat or sleep for days as well as the obligatory police interviews, it was only resolved when their daughter found the suicide note at home, but the driver has had to live with that ever since.

You sound like one of the many people who are calling him 'Selfish', Paul.

It is a very difficult thing to comprehend - I am fortunate enough not to have ever suffered with depression, and therefore I'm unable to comprehend how anyone can find themselves in that state. Though I'm sure that those people who don't believe there is any other way out simply aren't capable of thinking of anything or anyone else, not even those closest to them. They're certainly not thinking clearly - and that's easy for me to say having never been in that position.

I do know people who have been in that kind of position (not to the same degree) and it's hard to watch someone you care about struggle like that.

But - it's an illness nonetheless, and needs to be treated as such. I hope Carlisle gets all the help he needs to beat his illness.

Oh God no, He has my upmost sympathy, I worked on a psychiatric ward many years ago, and dealt at first hand with similar cases. I just don't like when suicides involve others indirectly, such as people who hang themselves at home when a spouse or a child has to find them. I know their actions are not a cognitive process but its just something I do not like.

Something like that is bad enough, a lad I knew from school found his younger brother hanging over their stairs a few years back, but if you're throwing yourself into traffic on a busy road or going out drink driving repeatedly then you're putting a whole lot more people in an even worse position, he could've caused a massive accident somewhere resulting in many deaths and causing grief for a great number more as a result.

Not to say i blame him for that but I do think something needs to be done, they can't just keep letting him off with things, he needs help but he can't be allowed to put others at risk either.
