I think 99.9999% of them would have kept Pardew if they knew the alternative was Carver. Wanting a manager out for prolonged indifferent (at best) performance and not wanting him replaced by someone I wouldn't have in charge of a pub team are not mutually exclusive.
Just like February 2012

It's a fair point though, they got carver because Ashley just wants someone to keep the team ticking over without any fuss or expense. Why on earth is mclaren going there?

Maybe not..

I thought the Schteeve stuff was just rumors?

He's not going to walk out of Derby for 3 games at Newcastle when he can have minimal affect and potentially get relegated to the same league he's left in a fortnight or so. I think he'll go there in the Summer if they stay up though.

Ligue 1 Manager of the Year nominees: Christophe Galtier (ASSE) , Hubert Fournier (Lyon), Laurent Blanc (PSG) Jocelyn Gourvennec (Guingamp)

Channel 5 to show Football League highlights in 9pm Saturday slot..

Shoestring Bournemouth's financials from 2013/14:

Turnover £10m
Staff Costs £17.3m
Loss £10.3m
Net Debt £21.5m
Loan from Maxim Demin £7.9m due 2017
Loan from parent company (ultimately controlled by Demin) £17.1m due 2018

What a fairytale rise to the top.

What's ours, for comparison?

We don't have any debt. We made a loss of around £1.7m in 2013/14. The wage bill was somewhere around the £21m mark as far as I remember (our turnover is obviously much higher than Bournemouth's).

Edit: Just checked, our turnover was £32.5m last season.

Apparently Burnley are now a richer club than Ajax. Because of the new Premier League TV deal the 20 clubs are now automatically in the top 40 richest clubs in the world.

Has to be Fournier, really. Nice to see some recognition for Gourvennec, though, he has done a fine job.

As country, out of the clubs in this top thirty, England brings in £3.2billion, almost triple the amount of the next closest country (Spain, £1.2b).

How are PSG so high? They got a huge deal with Emirates or something?

Yeah, it's very, very, very flimsy as far as FFP goes. Take your own guess what Platini has done about that while he said City's similar Etihad deal wasn't valid...

Do like that some clubs allow a sense of humour to be used when using their Twitter accounts

The Inverness Caley Twitter was great value during the semi-final vs Celtic.

Christ. Not even stuck for choice either, Essien, Ballack or Matic to pick from.
