Bit of fun ahead of tonight's game, name a combined Bayern/Barca XI.

-----------------------Neuer------------------------

Lahm----------Dante----------Pique---------Alaba

------------Rakitic---------Thiago------------------

------Suarez---------Messi----------Robben------

-------------------Lewandowski------------------

Yes I know Lahm doesn't play at RB very often these days. That is because Pep can be a strange man sometimes. Fuck putting him in midfield.

Ballack would be in there for me. Rolls Royce of a player. In the Wilkins Chelsea line up, not that insane barca bayern combo!!

Not for me. He wasn't great for Chelsea.

Essien before he broke was a complete freak. An absolute monster of a player

Yep me too, phenomenal player - possibly my favourite non-wolves player.

Really quite hard to do actually. Leaving out the likes of Alonso, Mascherano, Müller, Ribery, Iniesta...

For what are probably the two best teams in the world their centre halves are relatively poor though. Toyed with sticking Javi Martinez there. At least Pique has looked somewhere near to his best this season after a shocking 18 months or so.

I can't be having Boateng, always got a massive ricket in him.

Not having Boateng for the reason but then putting in Dante seems counterintuitive.

Dante is alright. He makes nowhere near as many errors as Boateng.

It's impossible. You could name 2 XI's that would pretty much go toe to toe with anyone and a third would still be bloody decent (if cripplingly slow in midfield).

Ian Harte released by Bournemouth. Remember all those years ago we had him on trial and Mick got a shit load of stick for doing it. Seemed to have had a decent career since that moment.

Busquets has to be in there. Agree on Lahm, it is a strange one, and then Joachim Low tried it too playing him in midfield. He's such a good full back that it is such a waste!

I hoped we would sign him at the time, thought he would have done a good job for us

Good footballer, so slow though! I remember Jarvis (think it was him anyway) having a field day against him once.

We played him in central midfield vs Walsall. Looked better there than Seyi ever did.

From memory we did offer him a contract (for a month) but if he'd have taken it and then we'd have released him at the end, he'd have been unable to sign for anyone else until January so he turned it down.

Yes! Drew 2-2 on tv. Jarvis had missed a few chances then finally scored.

Rob Edwards scored for them, didn't celebrate. Jarvo drove me up the wall that game, I think he missed four one on ones. His finishing was awful when we first signed him.

His finishing in his time with us was dreadful until he hit 7 in 14 at the end of the relegation season!

One of my Bayern supporting friend's has to stop herself getting sick anytime Pep brings him on. Dunno if she's representative but I was under the impression they really didn't like him there.

Alonso ahead of Busquets for me.
