anyone seen don't breathe yet?
Tried to watch La La Land. Managed about 2 minutes. Really not my kind of film - don't know why I thought it was a good idea to watch it!!
Has anyone seen The Babadook ? Directed by Jennifer Kent, it wasn't what I was expecting from a psychological horror, which is the type I prefer, but it's a clever and brilliant film for several different reasons that I can't go into without spoiling it for those who might want to see it.
Great performance by Essie Davis.
I've seen the Cinema Sins take on it on YouTube, it looks odd to say the least.
It's not all like the opening sequence tbf.
Manchester By The Sea
The most powerful and emotional film I've seen in a very long time. Casey Affleck's performance is remarkable - I don't know how he does it, but he's basically playing a bloke who just happens to be bottling up a lot of grief without ever really letting it all out. Sounds pretty simplistic but the overall effect is so impressive. Having seen this and Andrew Garfield's brilliant performance in Hacksaw Ridge, if I had to choose which of these 2 was more deserving of the Oscar, I'd have to say Affleck.
Beautifully shot, the music adds to the emotion and tension and there are some really tender scenes mixed in as well.
It's a brilliant film.
If it doesn't involve sparky teenagers dressed in primary colours dancing on top of cars, how good can it be really?
Manchester by the sea...bore off.

Two different reviews there :icon_lol:
I'm glad Langers said it's good as it's on my list to watch.
I can only assume that PPB has no soul.
No, I don't actually. Not anymore.
Didn't you find it depressing? I found it depressing and Mr Penguin fell asleep through it.
Depressing is the wrong word - powerful and emotional are more apt. I don't know how you couldn't be moved by it.

Did you watch the whole thing?
