Captain America - The Winter Soldier

Several varying degrees of meh. Does anyone else find practically all these Marvel films to be decidedly average with very few memorable moments? I want to like them and whilst they're not unwatchable, there's only really been Deadpool that I can say I've really enjoyed.

Nah, I love all of the marvel movies to varying degrees, probably the first avengers one is my favourite but I've seen and enjoyed them all multiple times. They get the blend of humour and action/serious themes just right imo.

I havent read the books however you are the second person to tell me I should so I think I might invest. I mean't the ending to the first film, which is very unclear if he is or isn't (trying not to spoil it for others in case they watch/read) I enjoyed it none the less.
I think that's a big part of the fascination. I spent half the book wondering "is this fact or fiction?" I also annoyed all my mates when reading it, by blathering on about it incessantly.

Leaving an ending a little open to interpretation ending wise can be a sound move. For example the last scene in Inception.

The Hulk is probably my favourite (not the Ang Lee one). I've watched it loads of times.

Yes I agree tends to stick in the memory for much longer. The Inception ending was epic big fan of Leo's films loved the ending to Shutter Island too although that was because I really didn't see it coming.

I think that's one of my main issues with them - the balance isn't quite right and the main action sequences are really samey and unoriginal.

I sound like I'm nitpicking - I don't mean to. I'll still get through them all for a bit of escapism but I do think they're overrated. Mostly.

Sympathy For Mr Vengeance was pretty good from what I remember. It's years since I've seen it. I saw the follow up too (Sympathy For Lady Vengeance) but can't remember anything about it.

I can't remember that you needed to watch it before Oldboy though. Maybe worth it just to get in the mood.

I watched What About Bob last night.

Been years since I saw it and it still made me laugh. Great film

Just watched Snowden. Excellent film, which had my complete attention from the start to finish.

The Impossible - true story of one family's ordeal following the 2004 tsunami starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.

She's absolutely superb in it but the star of the film was the kid who played their eldest son - who I think has been cast as the next Spiderman.

Anyway a brilliant film but I sometimes wonder why I watch powerful films like this as again, it was very emotional. I admit to hugging my kids slightly tighter than normal when they got home earlier.

The Magnificent Seven. I love a good Western and this version was a decent one. Thought Washington made a good Sam Chisholm, but then I'm a huge Denzel fan anyway.

The Sitter, not my idea of a 'comedy' and neither is it ' hilarious 'and with a storyline that could have been made up whilst sitting on the toilet for a couple of hours after a bad Vindaloo, I'd say avoid this one.

Deep water Horizon. What a tragic film. I will not know how it felt to be on that rig at the time, and how it effects the families of the dead and the survivors new way of life.

Got round to seeing Rogue One. Brilliant film just as a Star Wars film should be.

The Accountant. Far too much thinking for my liking.

I quite enjoyed The Accountant. I was disappointed with the Magnificent 7. The Nice Guys was a decent enough romp.
