The Film Thread

Now I enjoyed that one. Yes very different role to his usual ones but still enjoyable I thought. Although probably more of a female film than a blokes.

Yeah, Mrs Architect liked it. I didn't mind Bob actually, as I find him quite funny, and I like Anne Hathaway, but it was just so... beige and predictable and nice.

The Finest Hours.
A good little adventure romp, based on a true story. Worth a watch.

Misconduct. Why on earth did Hopkins and Pacino sign up for this one. With a crap ending that leaves you guessing, which I hate.

The Force Awakens - I need to watch it again, there was too much in it that I didn't like first time round.

Point Break - Why the fuck did anybody bother 'remaking' this? As much as I hate Keanu Reeves the original pisses all over this.

I thought Force Awakens was decent entertainment. A few plot holes though.

There are vast plot holes, which I think will be resolved by the later films when they are released. Cracking film though. Bought the DVD on release date and have probably watched it three times since I got it.

I went to see Eye In The Sky last night. Really good tense stuff about the morality of drone warfare. Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman and Jessie from Breaking Bad all on top form.

The Jungle Book. If you have a couple of hours spare on a rainy day, its worth going. Good one for the kids I would imagine.

Deadpool is awesome. Not a huge fan of the Marvel films - they're OK but nothing special at all, but this was bloody good fun and I really enjoyed it.

Yeah I thought it was great fun.

I'm off to see Civil War tomorrow so I have high hopes for that given the reviews.

I've enjoyed it more each time I've watched it. I agree re the plot holes-think a lot will be answered in 8. Mind you, some of my favourite films have plot holes. Terminator 1 and 2 completely cancel themselves out but still great films.

The film for the weekend is The Boy. Looks really creepy and scary to me from the trailer. If it's shit and a waste of a couple of me hours, I blame Quirk.

Cap America was very good. Up there with the first Avengers as the best Marvel film so far. 8/10.

Just going to settle down to Deadpool with a few Brewdog Punk IPAs.

Bugger, just sent hubby to walmart for The Boy only it don't come out until Tuesday over here.

Really enjoyed Civil War, agreed it is one of the best MCU. It's nice to see they've moved away from the 'Big Aerial Battle' climax too.

This Is England

Never seen the film or any of the subsequent TV series before. It's really good, but the ending is just horrible!

I've now seen TIE 86 and have started TIE 88. Great stuff - it can quickly turn from humour into extremely gritty and downright disturbing.

Apparently betting has been suspended on the next James Bond, at least with one bookie, on Tom Hiddleston.
I think he's a cracking actor, and am well aware the ladies think he is appropriately swoonsome, but I would question his grittiness/edge as a Bond for me?
