The Film Thread

The Clouds of Sils Maria. Great performances but essentially 2 hours of an actress worrying about whether or not she should play a role. Where is the jeopardy as Hitchcock used to say. Should have known better than to let the wife pick.

Lord Knows, that film was a perfect one for a day tucked up in bed. Now going to watch About Time for a further dose of romance.

Thank you for suggesting it.

I'm romanced out, this evening it's time for some gore.

Kung Fury is available to watch on You Tube for free. It was a kick-starter project and the trailor is here:

Finally watching Dawn of the Planet of the Apes after many recommendations from people on here and elsewhere. Bloody great film.

Watched Under The Skin last night. A very odd film. Very European sensibilities the way it was shot and the soundtrack.

It was a bit dull at times watching it but interesting to look back and try and understand it. Which I think I do now.

Jupiter Ascending. What the hells up with the sound on this film. Its either bloody deafening or you struggle to make out what they're saying.

Focus. I was only saying the other day, Will Smith's films are always worth watching. Well maybe not this one.

McFarland USA. Heartwarming feel good movie.

Watched Fury over the weekend. Pretty enjoyable if rather unspectacular war romp - nothing special but a decent watch. 7/10

I quite liked it. Interesting idea and quite hypnotic, especially with that soundtrack. And I like that the director just had Scarlett Johanssen wondering around Glasgow without anyone knowing.

Bad Words - made me laugh a lot, though plenty of it was pretty cruel humour! A very amusing 90 minutes - the main character really is a total prick but it worked quite well IMO.

That's sitting there waiting for me to watch.
