The Film Thread

I'm going to see ROTPOTA on Sunday. I was going to see Inbetweeners but I'll just download it as I doubt it needs the big screen experience quite so much as the monkey film.

Has anyone been to see Captain America?

The final shot of Mr Gilbert cracked me up.

That as well! And yep, Northern, I really enjoyed that scene too. Mainly because a) the girl is utterly fit and b) his face and the noise he made when she said "take off your clothes" was hilarious.

The nerdiest video I've seen in ages, but I still thought it was quite cool. Mainly because I'm a nerd.

I watched Source Code last night, well worth a watch. If watching with a girl it might be worth watching an episode or two of quantum leap first so that they understand the concept of different realities etc. She understood it in the end, but I had to pause it a couple of times.

Amazingly I have no trouble understanding and following the plot of Source Code despite my XX chromosomes.

Anybody seen Knuckle? An insight into bareknuckle fighting in the Irish gypsy community. It's no Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!

The differing "clans" seem to trade insults on YouTube, then meet in a lane to kick the shit out of each other.

Just got back from seeing super 8. Great film and very funny in places. Should never have been a 12A though. Definitely worthy of a 15.

Yep it was quite good - 7/10. Its very good for 2/3 but the climatic action scene isn't that great. Watch it to the end of the credits if like me you're a geek and want to see how it all ties in with The Avengers.

Just had to endure Final Destination 5, one of the worst films i've ever seen.

Yet another piece of shit that flaunts the pointless novelty of 3D, and add's an extra £2 to the ticket price to boot, when are people going to get bored of this shit? It adds NOTHING to the film! Maybe it wouldn't be quite so bad if they'd work some of the effects into the film in a decent way but there was more 3D action in the excessively long title sequence at the start, presumably made this long to showcase the amazing world of different objects breaking through glass in 3D, wow! Then you have to endure the ridiculously overdone results of peoples deaths, girl falls of parallel bars in gymnastics, breaks almost every bone in her body some how, a Buddha statue not much bigger than a football falls no more than 7 feet from a shelf onto a mans head resulting in his head exploding.

Cut the pointless 3D bollocks and concentrate on making a decent bastard film, one i can watch without having to re-adjust the worlds most uncomfortable glasses every 30 seconds!

I saw The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas last night. Decent little film but with a nasty ending.

'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' can now join 'Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life' and 'The Man Who Wasn't There' in the exclusive club that is films that I've slept through.

I can highly recommend The Secret In Their Eyes. An Argentinian film which won the Best Foreign Language Oscar last year. Very engaging little crime drama.

+1. Really enjoyed that film.

Just got back from The Light House to see Melancholia.

Great film. Stunning, demanding, arduous, beautiful, funny and poignant.

Definite recommendation.

I'm not sure whether it was from shock for what I was watching or Cameron Diaz.
