The FIFA Debacle

Just reading something about USA's successful bid for the 1994 World Cup. Morocco put together what was considered an excellent bid but they just didn't have the stadia.

A FIFA representative said this in the aftermath:

“In the opinion of the executive committee, perhaps it was wiser to accept the infrastructure that was existing than the ones that were planned. Also consider … that the World Cup is not a development program for the basic infrastructure of a country.”

FFS i can be a total cunt on cypro, as most of you know too often, but what the fuck is Blatter drinking? I WANT SOME!
 
Oh man. I am not pissed,yet, well not completely, but from what i am watching on the TV, of completed results, NO wins not by 1% but by four or five.

Right now I am so proud of the Greeks, no work, no medical insurance, no food, no jobs, no nothing! but they still told Germany "go fuck yourself" Boy these people, have balls!

and as for the Meabucks TV stations who were Yes! yes! yes!, with buckets of cash and slick advertising, hi hi hi, may their directors have lube in their office, because the country, not the government will want to check certain orifices in the next weeks.

Much as I like blaming Fifa, looks to me like that tweet was by the dinosaurs at the FA.
 
It is staggering, frankly. What was wrong with saying they come home to their loved ones as heroines? Hardly fucking difficult to write.
 
Probably trying to pander to the 'Fall Time Mummys' (sic) on Facebook and Twitter who believe that parenthood is up there with being chairman of ICI.

I've bitten my tongue on here regarding the Women's World Cup, I think I'd probably be best off keeping it that way.
 
Former Fifa executive committee member and Concacaf general secretary Chuck Blazer has been banned for life from any football-related activity.
 
Hardly a surprise. Unfortunately for FIFA I suspect Mr Blazer has done the damage.
 
Election date set at 26th Feb 2016.

Blatter says he wants to put some changes into place before he leaves, including openness over salaries, 209 member Congress to elect executive committee members (exco), a centralised integrity test to test new executives, and term limits for Exco and presidents of 12 yrs.

The culture needs to change and it won't change until Blatter has gone.
