The FFS Burnley 1 Wolves 1 Verdict thread

Oh, and let’s hope it’s another 40 years before we have another league game on the BBC. terrible coverage - more interested in showing their ball graphic or dyche’s face than actual football.

Give me Amazon every single day of the week.

I think the picture editor was pissed. How many times did they miss live action to show a flag, The Pennines or Sean Dyche. Absolutely shocking coverage.

In my view, the boot was high way before the ball hit doc's arm and he was defending himself against a high boot. Correct result free kick to wolves. Dean is a complete tosser!

One of the worst decisions I have ever seen. Disgraceful. I cannot express how angry and disappointed I am.

I was watching the none crowd version and switched back to the main game as I thought there must be some kind of lag.

I've agreed with Tony Towner earlier in the week and now I'm agreeing with you ?? Bloody hell :)

(Assuming you are two different people )

Hit his arm. You can argue dangerous play etc all you want but we all know full well by now it's going to be given if that happens. Even if Dean didn't see it VAR probably would've looked at it.

Awful last few minutes. Stopped playing, didn't clear our lines properly, gave away multiple stupid free kicks. We were asking for it. I don't have an earthly what Rui was doing for Wood's missed chance - we could easily have lost.

Didn't really create much, it has to be said. The front 3 just looked unbalanced and all over the place until Podence went off. If Raul doesn't catch that perfectly like he did we're probably not scoring.

Coady's forward passing was dreadful, gave it away time and again. Other 2 at the back were generally pretty solid and dealt with what they had to well. Neves was good, Moutinho was quiet outside of a couple excellent corners.

Blah. Real gut punch that. We simply have to close games out better and get better at clearing our lines. Put it in row fucking Z for fuck's sake. See also: Newcastle away, off the top of my head.

No if its attacking and hits his arm and a goal is scored its a foul.

If it hits a defenders arm the same rules do not apply.

Its only a Oen if a defenders arm is in an Unnatural poaition or making his Silhouette bigger.

When he jumped his arm was natural. It moced towards his head to protect himself from being kicked unnthe head.

Move that decision to the other end and we're screaming for a penalty. Forward is entitled to go for the ball etc etc. As someone has said above it is harsh on Doc but this is elite level sport and he needs to be braver and risk getting his head kicked off

Simple fact is the high boot and dangerous play occurs before the potential handball.

You can't have it both ways. If he moved his arm to protect himself, it wasn't in a natural position.

His arm was out, the ball hit it. End of.

Bullshit. It's a high boot and dangerous play.

As Dion pointed out when Saiss was poleaxed, it was part of the game in his day and he needed to man up, when Saiss does it it's dangerous play ?

By protecting his face from studs it becomes a natural movement and position.

Will VAR apologise for this as it has for others?

It's a decision that could have gone either way. Personally, I think the dangerous play trumps the handball but once it was given it was never likely to be overturned.

We have only ourselves to blame. It was a miracle that Wood didn't score a minute or so earlier. We should have just seen the game out.

Kind of - I’ve definately seen those given as dangerous play. He was probably too far away from doc for it to be a free kick though. It’s one of those that’s in the middle, so Burnley couldn’t have complained if it was disallowed, and we can’t really complain that it wasn’t.

Doc just had to deal with it.

It’s a gut punch because we needed and deserved the win, but it’s not a conspiracy, it was just a decision that could have gone either way. Mike Dein was always going to give the dramatic call though.

Feel like someone’s ripped my stomach out after that, Wasn’t a great game but we would have been deserved winners. Those on here who think that’s a penalty seriously? The PL will defend it saying it wasn’t dangerous play by Wood and Doherty clear handballs it this will then be backed up by buffoons like Dermot Gallagher.
