Arsenal 2-1 Wolves Verdict Thread 13/12/25

The psychic damage those last 5 minutes did me will have me on my ass for a fortnight.

Johnny Phillips was in the away end, tried to peer pressure him into posing with a 'load of shi(t)' poster. He laughed and said he couldn't because it'd get him the sack but as he was walking away he gave a thumbs up and a 'wanker' gesture (at Jeff, not me).

We’ve have a choice between a keeper who stopped making routine saves (Sa) and a keeper who can’t catch (Johnstone). Johnstone is an absolute bombsight with crosses under his crossbar.

No other PL keeper fucks that corner up like Johnstone does tonight. Watch it back - it’s fucking laughingly horrific.

No other PL keeper makes a weekly fuck up and keeps their place, either.

We have suddenly got some really, really shit players.

At least from what I can see his expected goals from last night was 0.3. Elsewhere people were telling me I was harsh saying he was to blame.

0.3 expected goals, 2 conceded, 23 crosses and only stopped 1 of them (meaning claimed).

Had the save from the FK that was going over but will credit him for that, plus the Rice shot. And you want every keeper making that save as its not well hit.

We all knew Doherty would struggle but I’m surprised nobody has mentioned how bad Wolfe was. I know Saka is good but he managed to get a ball into the box practically every time he had possession.

He's amazing.

Personally I don't think Wolfe was that awful really.

Doherty did alright defensively as well apart from when he got absolutely rinsed by Martinelli.
If each bit of play is taken in isolation he wasn’t that bad but viewed collectively and he might has well not been there given how little impact he had on stopping Saka.

With Lycan on this. Wolfe stats on OneFootball are fine. Arsenal only had 6 successful crosses, its a difficult assignment being viewed as just there to stop Saka. And Wolfe has contributed fine in other areas. 5 clearances, 2 headed clearances.

Why the hell can our back three not defend a bloody cross? Doc wasn`t too bad, better than Hoever and Jackson, at least. Haven`t seen anything from Wolfe to convince me he`s going to be a decent signing ( I`ll cut him some slack for being up against Sako tonight). "Jorgy" needs resting, Tolu should be capable of starting by now. For gods sake RE, start Mane over Hwang. At least, he shows a bit of creativity. Can`t see things changing, we hardly create anything and rely on keeping teams at bay, until the invariable cock up that allows teams to score.

Yeah, I'd like Edwards to be brave and pick Mané next week. Maybe even López as well.

They're both young and will make mistakes but we've got no pace or creativity in the team at the moment and at the very least they're both really positive.

Brentford are a tough team but if we don't win next Saturday then most likely we go into the New Year without a win. We need to be brave and pick a line up that's going to cause them problems, not just kill the game and hope to nick it.

Let’s not overplay Brentford. They’re a completely different team at home and away. Away they’ve won one, lost seven. It’s one of our best chance of a win this season and I agree with your proposed team. Play JSL and Hwang and we have very little threat and that will play into Brentford’s hands. I’d actually go to four at the back but RE seems to want a comfort blanket even though it provides no comfort.

Thats what Id go with, its a bit more attacking, we have nothing to lose by doing that, we're losing every game anyway.

Yes, I agree with that line-up. Nothing to lose now.
