The F1 Thread

Now confirmed.

Lewis wins 3 hours after the chequered flag

That's gutting. But it's a simple rule, shouldn't be falling short of the weight limit.

Shame for George.

It's good to see so many teams competing for poles and wins now Red Bull have gone backwards a bit.

Should be a good end to the season hopefully. Just in time for them to change the rules again...

Thoughts from Mercedes that Russell switching to a one stop, caused excessive wear and weight loss across his tyres.

Gutting for him.

Gutting for him.
And without the warm down lap to pick up marbles no doubt a factor also then - suspect that is the type of weight they can get close to finding

Load of rumours that Perez will be binned in the mid season break. Somehow Danny Ric in contention despite being basically very average since returning to F1. Unless the plan is to put him there of the 2nd half and let Lawson build up in the AT ready to take the 2nd RB seat next season

They’ll just have the same issue unless they a) get their dominant car back or b) bring in a top quality second driver. Max gas destroyed Gasly, Albon, and now Perez. Unless Ricciardo somehow just becomes good again in a red bull (which I assume they’re hoping for) then it’ll keep happening. Lawson wouldn’t stand a chance.

I guess all they want right now is someone to put the car in with the McLarens and Merc to secure the constructors title.

Perez has lost whatever confidence he had and RB look like they have given up on him completely

Perez rumours in the bin. Red Bull saying he will keep his seat for the season.

F1 race is not bad either, if I'm not the only person trying to watch two things at once!

Just seen Jack Doohan has been promoted to an Alpine race seat next year, pleased for him and to see some of the clear F2 talent finding ways into F1

Logan Sargaent binned by Williams. Franco Colapinto will take his spot for the rest of the season.

Kimi Antonelli confirmed for Mercedes next season.

He might feel a bit better after totalling George's car yesterday

F2 and F3 races have been superb this weekend. The slight track changes with the wider kerbs and relaid tarmac (as I understand it) have made for great racing. Thought generally speaking these categories always provide better racing. F3 title was decided on the last corner, disappointing not the way I'd have liked with the championship winner not having won a single race this year, but exciting nonetheless (the runner up, Mini, will definitely end up in F1).

Charles with a great win.

Doing a Russell to beat the rest with a 1 stop race (presume he will avoid a weight issue)

Red Bull looking very very ordinary.

Yep. McLaren should have deployed team orders in the last couple of corners IMV buy next few races will show whether Lando has any realistic championship chance (and how much 3 points today may have helped)

A skeptic might thing this season is being run by Netflix. Hamilton wins British and now Ferrari get Italian.
