The F1 Thread

Really shouldn't be over heating in the temps that had yesterday though.

You'd think Red Bull were the ones continually on the verge of overheating as Newey is known for pushing the cooling to the limit to package his car as tightly as possible.

Another year for Bottas at Mercedes.

I imagine Russell may start to get twitchy soon - three years paddling around at the back is not really what he'd have been looking for after smashing up F2.

Racing Point would be a logical step given their links with Mercedes.

Yeah there’s only one seat there while Stroll is in charge and Perez brings in a lot of money. I’d love to see Russell in a competitive car though.

Vettel to Racing Point rumours are ever increasing.

Sounds as if Perez has a break clause, although it is difficult to see anywhere for him other than Haas now. Could be a good option for them given the huge backing he brings, but I can't see him being particularly enamoured at the prospect of them given their swift drop to the back of the pack.

Jesus wept. Why would RP want an older extremely expensive driver who is on his way down and full of mistakes?

I'd much rather have George Russell if I was them.

Quali could be fun. I’m watching the F3 race which has been red flagged after a huge engine failure dumped a colossal amount of oil on the racing line through turns 1,2 and 3. Not sure concrete dust is going to completely clear this.

Wow that Mercedes change of direction is frightening!

Loving that Racing Point are sticking it to Red Bull and Ferrari. Though you're not telling me that they haven't had some technical help from Mercedes. If it was that easy to copy them everyone would be doing it!

The Merc is mighty but Racing Point getting through Q2 on the mediums and then locking out the second row was a big two fingers to those complaining

Max has broken a front suspension rod coming to the grid. Red Bull mechanics think they can sort it in about six minutes that they have. That’s insane.

Starting on wets by the look of it. Proper shame as it negates the brilliant racing point efforts to be able to start on the mediums.

Really think more teams from the middle of the grid backwards could have gambled on slicks from the start.

Other than the first 15 laps a really tedious race.

No shock as Mexico & Brazil races cancelled for this year.

Imola is back. As is Nurburgring. Sounds like Portimao will get a race, with strong possibility of Hanoi and the return of Sepang. I like Sepang. Great circuit.

No Perez this weekend as he has tested positive for the old Corona virus

Out of both Silverstone races due to the new 10 day rule.

Looks like Hulkenburg is getting the seat as RP share their reserve driver (Gutiérrez) with Merc.
Merc get to say if they can use him and as their other reserve driver (Vandoorne) is unavailable they have said nope
