Such an odd agreement to have. I guess seemingly born from getting Seb ahead of him last week. It maks sense if 1 of them is close or leading the champonship but both 80+ behind, just let them race. Seems everytime Ferrari get themselves into a good position, they find a way to mess it up. Been dominating since the restart but the last 2 races all the talk is about the politics at the team rather than Seb winning for the first time in a year and Charles being a ridiculous talent

No P3 or Quali tomorrow due to the slightly windy weather in Japan. Quali set for Sunday morning if the weather is ok. If not the Grid will be determined by the results of P2 which would put Bottas on Pole, 2nd Lewis, 3rd Max, 4th Leclerc.

Max on Pole thanks to a great opening lap in Q3. Charles and Seb behind him. Lewis in 4th but the Merc has been shit in Mexico for the previous 2 years so no shock really.

He has a chance to win the title though for the 3rd year in a row in Mexico. Just needs to beat Bottas by 14 points. Was looking unlikely until the final corner of the final lap in Q3 Bottas slammed his car hard into the wall. Serious rebuild for Merc and it will be amazing if he doesn't need a new gear box, which would push him down to 11th on the grid and a good chance he may have to start from the Pit Lane. That happens and the title is there for Lewis is he stays out of trouble

Max might be in trouble though. The daft sod set his quickest time in the sector where the double yellow flags were being waved after Bottas totalled his car. Possible grid pen heading his way for not slowing down.

Speeding under double yellow is a penalty offence. 3 places last time but might be more as he was at full speed on the final bend.

Odd race....all building up to an epic final 5 laps with 4 cars going for victory but it was as a flat as a Wolves 1st half performance in the end.

Lewis takes the win thanks to a gamble from Merc to go 1 stop and do it early. Max's weekend got worse thanks to a clash with Lewis and then Bottas which saw him get pick up a puncture and go to the back of the grid.

Title all but sorted. If Bottas wins next weekend then Lewis will need to take just 4 points. If Bottas doesn't win then the title is bagged (Current lead 74 points with 78 the max Bottas can get. Finishes 2nd with a fastest lap the lead would be down to 55 points and if Lewis didn't finish the race it would leave it with 2 races to go and a max of 52 points up for grabs)
