The F1 Thread

Montoya was very talented but a complete and utter goon who only has himself to blame for not fulfilling his potential. I'd take Nico over him every time.

Me too. I'd put Rosberg above Montoya personally.

Rosberg is very good and very consistent too, he's not as quick as Lewis but he's not far off. It's a shame that if this run of luck keeps going he won't get much credit for winning the title, it's not his fault after all. I think he would need some good fortune to beat Lewis over the course of a season but it's been a bit overkill so far!

Piss of a race again then... :(

Vettel furious on the radio, rightly so.

Lewis starts to chew the time gap between him and Rosberg and car starts to lose water. Slows down and gap gets bigger, suddenly car is fine, hmmm ;)

These little mechanical issues are really ruining and chance of a good race

Interesting fact, Rosberg has not overtaken a single car all season.

I'll usually defend F1 all the way, but this season is just shit.

He did take Riciardo in the last race...but he did pick up a puncture as the move was being made. EDIT - Didn't he pass Lewis on the 1st corner in Australia as well?

Hoping to see a race with the 2 Mercs and 2 Ferrari's having a clean battle. On the plus side today, awesome result for Alonso

Not sure you can count taking someone of the start? Stat came from sky sports F1 and they are usually reliable.

If Lewis had been allowed to continue today it would have been interesting.

He would have been with him with 10 laps to go. He was taking big chunks out of him even when he hit the traffic. He might not have won but Nico would have had an uncomfy final few laps.

See Lewis has had a grumble about how his Engineering team from the last 2 years are now on Nico's side of the Garage after being swapped for no reason.

Like I said earlier, the fact that Mercedes are in a position where they can decide which of their drivers can win the championship does the sport no favours at all.

It's easy to see how some people will be donning their tin foil hats and shouting about conspiracies but it really is just awful luck for Lewis and nothing more. Chuck in Vettel already having 2 DNF's and Kimi not really pushing his car that much and Nico is in dream land. I doubt he will ever have a better chance to win the World Title.

Predictability is not good for any sport, and over the last couple of seasons formula one has become far too predictable. Nowadays it doesn't bother me if I miss a race.

i consider Vettell and Hamilton and maybe Alonzo as the best drivers..Ricardo is talented too

Last 2 seasons you had no idea if Nico or Lewis would win a race......

Alonso is a great driver. He is one of the few current drivers you can put in a crap car and they get a good result (last season doesn't count as he was driving a Datsun Cherry alongside F1 cars)

Kvyat and Verstappen switched.

Oh dear, Red Bull.
