The F1 Thread

Sounds like game over between Ferrari and Alonso.

Off to replace Button?

Should be plenty of rain about in Suzuka this weekend with the hurricane nearby.

Didn't see that coming. Thought they'd keep Magnussen after the issues they had with Alonso/Hamilton.

Doubt Button will provide an issue in that respect, at his age he'll happily just be number two. He isn't going to win another title but he is good at picking up steady points and providing feedback on the car to the team.

No surprise Honda are announcing that this weekend.

It's a wonder Eddie Jordan hasn't been shouting it from the rooftops like he normally does when ever he gets a sniff of any big news.

It's a typhoon. Suzuka has come close before. I think I remember about eight years ago qualifying had to be on the Sunday just before the race because of a typhoon near miss.

Button said the cars could barely get above 90 mph the level of water was so massive.

Was it China few years ago that was stopped just after the half way point due a monsoon? Top 10 were awarded half the points.

Monaco was stopped once. About half a lap before Baby Senna was about to win it in a Toleman.

Malaysia 2009 I think.

Vettel going to Ferrari - confirmed
Kyvatt going to Red Bull - confirmed
Alonso offski but McLaren not fully confirmed yet, no decision on who will be his team mate out of Button and Magnussen

Well that escalated quickly! Can't see Kvyat being particularly good but Ricciardo has proved he can challenge already so they'll prefer to have a clearer number 1/2

I've been really impressed with Kvyat.

Can't stand McLaren so not particularly happy with this news.

Just watched the interviews with the drivers post qualifying. My God they're a dull bunch, more personality in Ed Milliband's press conferences.

Alonso must REALLY be convinced they are going to lead the field. Working with Ron Dennis again, should be interesting!

#balestreyoufuckingcheating$#@!

And about two laps before Stefan Bellof and his Tyrrell went past Senna to win, and about four before Senna's damaged suspension from when he clouted a wall failed.

Honda are going all out on their return as an engine supplier to McLaren. Chucking a lot of money at it.
