The F1 Thread

I know he's out on his own but odd that the German director hasn't shown barely a single shot of Rosberg in the lead other than his pitstop.

Soon went to him when he said his front left tyre was going

Great race. Easy for Rosberg but some brilliant racing down the grid, especially from the former Champions. Lewis and Kimi side by side on the narrowest part of the track was especially brilliant.

To get 3rd from 20th was a great result for Lewis, especially after his strategy was changed to go for 3 stops. Seems they gambled on taking the 3rd early as they expected the safety car out when Sutil decided to park right on the exit of the corner. Shame his tyres went, so there was no grandstand finish for 2nd place.

I know they'd never do it as qualifying is almost as important as the race itself these days but wouldn't it be brilliant if we had a reverse grid on a Sunday and make qualifying a race in itself where the winner earns half race points.

The racing on a Sunday would be magnificent.

I think that was mentioned a while ago, and it would be excellent if they did it, but of course it will not happen.

good idea but wouldnt work.people would just pretend to be slow and wind up in pole position just to blast the race home

edit: didnt see the qualifying race earning half the points....why not then, i think it could work..other teams would get some more points, at least this weekend when Hamilton had to start at the back

Martin Brundle was talking about the idea of points from Qualifying on Saturday. He doesn't think Bernie is open to that one at all.

On Bernie.......what the fuck is all this "Bernie says Think before you Drive" banners all over the track (clearly Pastor Maldanado hasn't seen them yet).

Should have said "think before you bribe".

Was going to post that but I did that joke at home and even the cat looked at me as if to say fuck off with that attempt

Yeah. It was a bit obvious.

Confirmed that F1 will be back in Mexico next year.

And Bernie sees no problem with this years Russian race as f1 "doesn't do politics". Of course receiving £50m a year from that lunatic Putin sits perfectly well in the current climate....

Azerbaijan too host the European Grand Prix in 2016 and it will be a street race

Nice injury for Toto Wolff!! Arm a bit broken in a few places after a cycle crash on Tuesday
