The F1 Thread

Either made a mistake or was too far down on time for some reason.

Why on earth did he come in to the pits?!

All losing time early stages and his team said come in if you don't think you can improve. Then all cars found the time in the dry final sector.

Horrendous decision to abort the lap.

Hamilton's call to abort the lap due to time lost at the start. As it turns out a massive error.

Surely worth staying out just in case, even if you suspect there's no time to be made. Not worth the gain of saving one additional lap on the tyres.

I guess you put things like spinning and damage in to the thinking. No doubt he will be kicking everything that moves after seeing the times made up in the final sector. Vettel was about 2 seconds down at S2.

Ricciardo and the TR's will also be fucked off with the decision to stay in the pits.

Championship slipping away from Lewis which is a shame, although realistically it'll come down to which car breaks down the fewest times and Nico has had all the luck in that regard this far

After his disappointing qualifying session, Hamilton will need to make a very good start to get close to Rosberg.

Race stopped after an accident. Raikkonnen coming off worse. Hopefully he is ok.

Kim just has a bruised ankle according to Ferrari. Having an x-ray as a precaution.

Great win for Lewis though obviously helped with the retirement. The season probably needed that to be fair. Now to the tennis!

Not really. The whinge-off between Vettel and Alonso was good.

Caught the highlights and seemed like a cracking race, pleased for Lewis and for the title race to be close again. Vettel showing himself to be a prize pillock again with his radio whining, he's not handling not being the best one out there very well is he? Highlights didn't show much of Ricciardo - how did he end up 3rd?

A season saving performance from Lewis for me. Even before Nico broke down he was taking chunks out of his time but Merc need to sort out what is happening on the pit stops. Nico 2.7 and Lewis 4.1.

Ricciardo just did 1 stop and raced very well, another lap though and Button had him.

Alonso was whinging about Vettel as well but it just seems to be the way nowadays, look for something to get the Stewards involved to save them having to actually try and race

Nico's car was having issues for a long time before his retirement, hence losing time to Lewis.

Ricciardo is having an absolutely brilliant season. Seb's getting off pretty lightly seeing as he's being routinely beaten week in, week out in both quali and the race.

I'm assuming you completely missed the period where Alonso and Seb were wheel to wheel racing then? If the FIA set such strict guidelines on exceeding the limits of the track, any driver will be all over the radio when their competitor is clearly using more track than he's seemingly allowed to.

Didn't miss it at all and it was brilliant. My point is not just aimed at Vettel or Alonso, but just in general. Way too much moaning to teacher for my liking. As they said on Sky.."just shut up and race"

There's always going to be bickering when it comes to those two. Alonso will try anything to get one over him after the past four years having never really had the opportunity to actually race him on track and he wound Seb up a treat in doing so.

Drivers will moan about eachother all the time, we only ever get wind of it because a certain percentage of all of the transcripts have to be aired by the FOA.

The racing between the two of them was brilliant and completely fair I thought, just makes them look pathetic when they bitch and moan like that. Ricciardo has been superb this year, I'm wondering if it shows just how poor Webber was for Red Bull or that Vettel can't get used to the new car/rules. Either way it's very interesting. Love seeing Williams at the front again btw, Bottas is a bit of a star.
