The Definitive TWF Wolves XI Thread (1970 - present)

Too many hours working, your days have become one and it's come to a very serious point of affecting your TWF XI contributions

To be fair I left the house at 5:00 yesterday morning and didn't get back until 8:40 last night. No wonder I forgot about it. I hang my head in shame.

Reckon that this will turn out to be:

McCarthy
Turner
McGarry

Can live with that

It seems I've lost the concept of days.

The answer above probably answers that to be honest.
Many years ago, my uni mate got so hammered one Monday night he slept through the whole of Tuesday.

He woke up at 7am on the Wednesday raring to go for an important exam that started at 9. But he missed it by 24 hours as it was scheduled for the Tuesday. It turns out he was so nervous about it that he decided to get drunk to relax his nerves.

The Hangover of Legend.

Mick
Jackett
Jones

I'd love to put Turner in there but I can't really remember him. I only started following Wolves upon Taylor's appointment.

Thanks :icon_lol:

Still, could have been worse. My uncle took me to the Villa v United 'you'll never win anything with kids' game at the start of the following season and I briefly considered switching allegiances.

Mick McCarthy - 85
Graham Turner - 45
Bill McGarry - 30
Kenny Jackett - 19
John Barnwell - 15
Dave Jones - 14
Ian Greaves, Nuno Espirito Santo, Graham Taylor - all 1

That's us done then. Thanks to all who contributed! For the record the second choice XI came out as Stowell; Muscat, Curle, Munro, Parkin; Kightly, Henry, Hibbitt, Jarvis; Ebanks-Blake, Richards. I'll leave you to decide whether they'd give the winners a decent game.

We're going the other way tomorrow and picking the worst team we can collectively think of. I've already got a number of absolute wastemen in the crosshairs.

That was fun Dan despite all my misty-eyed '70's love in :icon_lol:

Can't wait for the "Worst EVER Wolves XI since 1986" thread... There were no bad players in the '70's team #FACKT

I think picking the worst will be harder than picking the best. I wonder if some players will feature in both?!

Yeah thanks for this thread, enjoyed it loads, really brightened up the close season and all that rumour and conjecture

Damn good XI that is. Good stuff.
