The Definitive TWF Wolves XI Thread (1970 - present)

Jim McCalliog
Danny Hegan
Michael Kightly

Another season of Costa would see him in there.

Actually, I'm changing my third choice to Zyro (from Bazeley). Firstly, because it doesn't matter - it's clearly going to by Helder or Kites. Secondly, because I feel sorry for him, picking up such a shit injury so early in his Wolves career after an outright assault. But mainly, because he scored 3 in 7 games, only 1 less than Bazeley (my original 3rd pick) managed in 80 games.

Plus Bazeley went on to play 100 games for Walsall at a lower level and didn't find the back of the net once.

Zyro has all the attributes to be a top player for us, so I'll give him the courtesy of a pick.

Costa
Hibbitt
Daley

Kightly should be in there really but there is no way I'm picking him.

Noticed a few people haven't picked Helder Costa. Can all 3 of your choices really be better? Just can't see it

Hibbitt
McCalliog
Daniel

I know the yoof will sulk there is no Costa but he has performed in a side that would make Bambi on ice look good in comparison. I am not saying he won't be a great just wait and see, and I am very old.

I haven't seen another wolves player ever who has as much natural ability as Helder Costa

Same. I wasn't sulking, if anyone has been sulking it's the older chaps. My question was genuine, if there's 3 players better than Costa in this position then damn they must have been good!

I'm just saying give him time, a lot of wolves supporters big players up after one season and crucify them the next. Not saying this is the case just wait and see.

Let's wrap this one up early as it's a two horse race (and not an especially close one):

Helder Costa - 94
Michael Kightly - 73
Jim McCalliog - 18
Kenny Hibbitt - 10
Shaun Newton - 9
Danny Hegan - 4
James Henry - 4
Peter Daniel - 3
Darren Bazeley - 2
Tony Daley - 2
Paul Birch, Carl Cort, Don Goodman, Nigel Vaughan, Mark Walters, Michal Zyro - all 1

On to left midfield then which I think will be much more keenly contested. Three picks.

Bakary Sako
Mark Kennedy
Matt Jarvis

Bakary Sako
Matt Jarvis
Robbie Dennison (still smarting from him being vetoed in the last round!)

Jarvis
Sako

Now we have a problem as these are the only wide players on the left I remember (who were any good), so will go with vague memories of:

Kennedy
