Never understood the stick he gets as a pundit - after the first season or so as he was getting into the role. I think he's more than watchable now.
 
Talks about himself way too much and it's obvious, boring crap that anyone could say. Seems big headed, thinks his opinion is really important. I hate watching him and tbh I don't watch him any more, similar to when Adrian Chiles would start talking I fast forward or turn it off.

I'd rather watch him every day of the week than that illiterate mouth-breathing imbecile Merson.

Can't agree with the bit in bold at all. He's one of the better MOTD pundits and doesn't just say beige crap anyone else could come up with - his analysis is actually fairly decent these days. And I don't think he comes across as big headed either TBH.
