The Darts Thread

Ta,
you think then he would give it a go then for a couple of years as he seems a solid enough player, and if it doesn't workout he can always go back to being a wood butcher.

Whats the difference in moneywise between the two set ups? Does Waites earn more as No1 in the BDO then he would as No 10 or so in the PDC?

Vast difference.

If Waites wins tomorrow he gets £100k, but should he lose, he gets £30k. Taylor got £200k for winning the PDC, and Van Gerwen got £100k for getting to the final. Then there are the possibilities of getting in the Premier League if you are in the top echelons of the PDC.

In the standard weekend competitions throughout the year, PDC money completely outstrips anything the BDO can dream of.

I think he should do it, as I say he is as good as Newton who is ranked about 6 in the world at the moment. The standard is excellent but I think he has proven he can do it. He isn't proving anything by beating these clots, when he plays against the likes of Dekker/George/Jennings whoever and going 5-0 up in no time, so what?

Waites is beating the shit out of O'Shea so far. 3-0 in barely half an hour.

O'Shea playing like a dog. Referee fucking pissing me off. Atmosphere flatter than a witch's tit.

Welcome to the BDO.

The thing that pisses me off, and it has happened in this final is when Tony Green says "ton forty, followed by a ton" with reverence as if this feat was the equivalent of a round of 59 round St Andrews. It is BANG AVERAGE on the other side of the fence Tony.

5-0.... Getting embarrassing!

They haven't put the figures up but I'd be surprised if Waites is averaging much more than 90. He doesn't have to.

O'Shea needs double top....Hits single 5!
Wins a leg at last then hits a 180 (then hits 41)

They have put the figures up in the 5th set and Waites was averaging 90 point something.

O'Shea was about 82 or something shite like that.

Waites is probably at around 90.5. Maybe 91. Would be seriously surprised if he is higher than that.

Out of interest, why does the fifth syllable of One Hundred and Forty have to last nearly a second? Sounds fucking stupid.

What an awful leg of darts. They are the only ones that O'Shea is winning.

Set to O'Shea after Waites mysteriously morphs into DW after nine pints...

How many darts was that leg? I lost count/fell asleep!
