The Darts Thread

I would happily bring my arrows but getting them into the ground would be rather challenging....
 
I've left them in my jacket by accident on occasion and then rolled up to the ground wearing the same coat a few days later. Fortunately with the NB being pretty much entirely automated on the turnstiles now I got away with it, but I wouldn't recommend it...

Did the same last season. Think it was Liverpool and I suddenly discovered my Darts in my coat as we walked up to the turnstile. Thankfully the stewards were busy searching a group in front of us so escaped any issues

Richie George is beginning to seriously fuck me off. Just because his arsehole of a father is employed to talk balls about shit darts on the BBC, they feel the urge to yank his cock over wins with absolutely mediocre averages.

Oh - and Vassos Alexander you sap - "we're loving this" every couple of legs isn't commentary.
 
Waites is a bit of a coward IMO/IMV, he knows he'd get mauled in the PDC so he sticks to this shitfest.
 
At least he plays in the Grand Slam, unlike that yellow shitehawk Adams

Record or not he's clearly miles ahead of the BDO field. Performs well in the Grand Slam year on year...so wouldn't you want to test yourself?

I'm pretty sure you will end up beating the shit out of me for the next few months, if someone offered you the step up and I didn't mind you going....would you really settle for what you already had?

If he's happy doing what he's doing then fair enough, he still works fulltime as a carpenter. Remember what happened to Kirk Shepherd when he thought he'd hit the bigtime? Where is he now?
 
Shepherd was a one hit wonder though. Waites won the Grand Slam over two years ago and has performed well since.

If he's happy he's happy, good for him. I just think as a darter he's good enough to be up there as a bare minimum with a Newton/Hamilton/Thornton, all of whom are in the Premier League this season, but he won't do it.

Whats the difference in moneywise between the two set ups? Does Waites earn more as No1 in the BDO then he would as No 10 or so in the PDC?
 
No, I doubt he earns 10% out of darts what say, Terry Jenkins earns a year.

BDO you play a few floor tournaments and then the world's, the rest, well you do yourself, county games, pub leagues, exhibitions. Be a carpenter the rest of the time if you want, like Waites. Get a PDC card and you are a full time darts player. Which sounds great but you do have to pay your own expenses a lot of the time, your own entry fees and so if you are shit (like Kirk Shepherd) then you can quite easily end up losing money.
