The Cricket Thread

The squad being weak because of injuries and the stupid scheduling - yes, I can go along with that and accept we won't be at our best.

But why are you persisting with putting players in roles that absolutely everyone can see are not suitable. Name me a credible international team who've had success playing the likes of Curran and Overton in the middle order. They're just about ok at 8 and 9, if you squint a bit, maybe a spot higher (if you ignore that they're variously awful or redundant with the ball).

Overton is in as a semi moveable lamppost to stand at long on and take catches.

1-37 for Shite Sam and again didn't even bowl all his overs.

Sam Curran actually making his career figure’s worse which is some achievement! Surely there’s a better option?

I don’t understand what Overtons role in the team is? We’ve used 6 bowlers and he’s not one of them, and he’s shit batsmen
It's just bizarre, he's overweight too. As a batsman, he's a clubber, not a finisher, so not some sort of Michael Bevan style specialist. Plus until Buttler was ruled out he wasn't even in the squad

A cracking recovery by Somerset to turn this around. Crap start when bowling and a shocking start with the bat.
Just goes to show that you don’t need shite graphics on the screen and made up bollocks rules or teams for the short form of the game to be enjoyable.

Worcs and Warks both trying to stay relevant in the Div 1 relegation scrap. Lancs recovering, worryingly, against Somerset and Notts well ahead in their game means that it might well still go to the last week. The weather at the end of next week will no doubt be the difference.

Lancashire have hardly put themselves into any position of great strength yet. I'm just pissed off about the lost batting points for Somerset.

Obviously, I reserve the right to change this perspective if Lancashire add another 150 runs. Like I say, we are always the bridesmaid so I shouldn't be surprised.

A lead of 100 in a very low scoring game with 8 wickets left is a decent recovery from where they were 20 overs into Somersets first innings. But granted it's still a fragile lead in a game that could be over today or by lunch tomorrow.

Warwickshire bowled out twice in less than 62 overs in total and lose by an innings and 40 runs.
