The Cricket Thread

I wouldn't say it's good batting. You only need to get one with your name on it and then 7 off 67 looks an awful innings (well, it is awful). You have to try to score.

If we set a more attacking field, it might encourage them to drive, then again it would make it easier for them to rotate the strike. LBW is our best hope at the moment I think, unless they play a very rash shot.

It's proper test batting. The 'leave' is as important. It is boring I must admit.
As Hussain just said, excellent bowling and also excellent batting. I agree personally.

Let's hope the drinks break, breaks their concentration!
Wonder if coming round the wicket at Labuschagne and slanting it across him, would get him driving.?

30/1 of 18 overs dreary cricket for no reason.
If Jose Mourinho was a cricket coach this is how his teams would play.

There is no context at all bar batting to save a draw on the final day where that's even close to acceptable, it's a complete outlier. You don't need to lecture me on "proper batting", that isn't it.

What has he achieved there, nothing at all. It's why we don't pick shite like Dom Sibley any more.

No lecture.
I'm just in agreement with, Hussain, Butcher, Karthik, Atherton.

None of them have said it was a good or acceptable innings though.

As Atherton says, 'fascinating'.
There's always 'The Hundred' or the highlights package tonight for those who prefer it.
I prefer test cricket.

Not lecturing, eh.

It's not good batting in the slightest, and pretty easy to work out. He's out in single figures, so a poor innings. Add in that he has eaten up 82 balls to do it, and it's dreadful. Aside from saving a match on the last day and you're batting for a draw, it's a shocking effort for a specialist batsman

You must hate Bazball then.

Not proper cricket in your eyes?

2 runs an over. Slow over rate (13 p.h) as well considering the lack of boundaries and wickets.
Just one wicket this morning.
Aussies in a similar position to us after yesterday's first session, slightly less runs but with a wicket in hand.
It's five days all being well. See where we are after then.
Don't get me wrong I'd prefer it to be over in four days, or even three as I won't be in a position to watch it on Monday. 😄

3.5 runs per over use to be the going rate so Australia should’ve been scoring around 75-95 runs there. I think their attitude is must not lose first and then see if we can win afterwards.
