Couple of early wickets for England from Belly

Got away with terrible catching last week but suspect we’re not going to be as lucky this time.

Yep. Perry finally gone at the 4th opportunity.
Several pinch hitters coming up next for Oz now.
280 seemed to be considered the par at the start, we'll see...

If my pessimism is misplaced it won’t be the first time on this thread, and I’ll be more than happy. Last couple of overs feel like they’ll be important.

Regardless of how this finishes (I'm not confident), one positive has been whoever it is in the TMS regularly and correctly using the phrase "brain fade" instead of the all too common misuse of the term "brain fart".
Simple things...

Game would have been won by now if it wasn’t for that disastrous last over.

Ifs, buts, maybes. Fielded better wouldn't have needed to bowl a 50th over.

Pick any number of things. Dunkley scoring 13 off 30 wasn't very helpful.

Well it’s frickin annoying either way. I’m no expert on the women’s game, though I’ve enjoyed following it, but the difference between the better and poorer players in the same team seems pretty big. OK, within the England team I mean.

It's come on hugely in the last 10 years, same as the football really. Both were proper amateur level stuff before.

More exposure, more money and it'll continue on the same trend, which can only be a good thing.

Don't know if it's an issue or a coincidence that both the men's and women's teams are struggling in the field.
But kudos to the women for pushing the Ozzies here, shows that they actually are beatable.

What is the thinking behind the way their Ashes series is done using all formats to decide it?

The thinking is that no one wants to watch five tests of women's cricket.

Time constraints for one thing, also Women's Tests are pretty rare. The players wouldn't be used at all to playing even a 3 match series let alone 5.

The ridiculous amount of points you get for winning the Test pretty much kills the contest if there’s a winner though

As expected although why we name it now and not at the toss, I’m not sure.

Guess these things just leak out these days anyway
