Tongue picked over Woakes which I would not have done given the state of our tail (who's batting 8?) and Woakes' record at Lord's.

Tongue is a lucky dip selection full stop. Normally very expensive and doesn’t tend to get first innings wickets. Left field selection and he isn’t always guaranteed to be in Worcs first eleven or be fit even if chosen.
Some county pros of the last two decades must be wondering what they did wrong.
A Pattinson type pick.

Or even say, Sam Cook who hoovers up wickets for fun every single year for Essex.

Broad strikes early. Got to think Ireland will do well to make 250.

Broad again, excellent catch by Crawley.

It's only a four day Test this one but I doubt it's going that far.

Three for Broad! Leg slip trap to Tector, made him look silly.

Nearly 19/4 but Stirling gets it overturned on DRS.

64/4, Leach gets Stirling. Just couldn't resist trying to go after him, good captaincy by Stokes.

Broad gets a 5for as Ireland go to 169-8

Third time at Lords

50 up inside 8 overs. We're not changing style!

Poor Ireland... 100/0 in 15 overs

Hell of a caught and bowled by Hand. Crawley gone after riding his luck

As streaky a 50 as you'll see. I know you need a bit of luck, especially as an opener, but he's still way too loose a foot/18 inches outside off stump

Yeah, you'd be queuing up to bowl at him with the new ball if he plays like that. Prime target for whichever of Hazlewood or Boland plays.

Given that we have basically no batting from 8 down, can see it being an early declaration today. A 200 lead or whatever then go again at them, we didn't even bowl 60 overs yesterday so no issues with fatigue.

Ton up for Duckett. This is the poorest Test attack I've seen since Bangladesh 2005 but you've still got to put them away.
