The Cricket Thread

Look at where his delivery stride is. It’s angled in but a dead straight delivery.

Pointless game as it’s not provable either way D314106E-B647-412D-B9CD-CCE05DDD310F.jpeg
But that’s pretty full and pitched miles outside off stump. He’s not bowling that wide (right on edge of return crease or at angle you’d get from left arm around) and just running through the clip backward and forward slowly shows it pretty clearly jag in. Pretty impossible otherwise for a ball pitching on 6th or 7th stump which is that full to hit the stumps without doing so, and that is probably why the batsmen left it…

Nah, not having that. It’s an angled in straight one. Nothing changes the fact it is a horrific leave though!

Moaning again - Moving your feet outside the line of the stumps after being struck on the pads and looking around at your final position doesn't exempt you LBW Steve. On this occasion I would like to have seen hawk eye. May have been outside the line even before his movements.

Think Impact is outside. Not even sure it would get umpires call. Tough to tell when he’s covering absolutely everything though so you’ve got nothing to go off and very grainy image.

Obviously didn't see the Blast games from yesterday live but just caught some highlights this morning. Lydia Greenway on comms, good fucking God. Absolutely awful. Almost had me pining for Charlie Dagnall.

Elsewhere Alastair Cook out for 99 so he has still never made a century at Trent Bridge in any format at any level. Astonishing stat given he's been playing for 20 years.

20 years today since Jimmy's Test debut. I was still just about at uni so that's a very long time ago! Channel 4 contrived to miss his first ever wicket as they'd ended coverage for the day and were showing an old episode of The Simpsons. The kind of thing people overlook when they reminisce about terrestrial coverage.

He'd played 10 Tests and 36 ODIs before Rehan Ahmed was born.

Josh Tongue brought into the squad for the Ireland game, very much doubt he'll actually play though.

Jason Roy planning to rip up his incremental England deal so he can play in the USA league.

I suppose in the short term it doesn't matter - as this year's MLC only lasts a couple of weeks in July and doesn't clash with any England white ball fixtures (or indeed The Hundred) at all. Maybe he just knows that he's got the World Cup this year (if selected) and then he probably won't play again. He's already not in the T20 side.

I think that’s right, he’s very close to being done at international level so it makes sense for him
