Foakes under Stokes/McCullum: 428 runs @ 38.90

Undeniably a far better keeper than Bairstow too. Bairstow is fine but he's Michael Oakes to Foakes' Matt Murray.

There's a decision to be made for sure because not everyone fits in, but this isn't the way I'd do it.

That’s a terrible decision, Foakes has been batting really well and is a miles better keeper.

Drop Crawley and stick Bairstow to open if he must play.

Is Root a better option...

Duckett
Root
Pope
Stokes
Brook
Bairstow
Foakes
Wood
Leach
Broad
Anderson

Root is still in theory our best batsman, I wouldn't mess around with him. I don't particularly think Baitstow will work, but I know Crawley won't.

Anyway, Archer confirmed as out for the Summer. I'd have Foakes in for his batting over Lawrence irrespective of the keeping, not that he'll play

Ben Stokes (Durham) Captain
James Anderson (Lancashire)
Jonathan Bairstow (Yorkshire)
Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire)
Harry Brook (Yorkshire)
Zak Crawley (Kent)
Ben Duckett (Nottinghamshire)
Dan Lawrence (Essex)
Jack Leach (Somerset)
Ollie Pope (Surrey)
Matthew Potts (Durham)
Ollie Robinson (Sussex)
Joe Root (Yorkshire)
Chris Woakes (Warwickshire)
Mark Wood (Durham)

Robinson just got Labuschagne out for 1.

Odd reaction from Labuschagne. Looked like he was walking to begin with but then seemed bemused by the decision.

He's just an oddball. Forever squawking away. Must be a nightmare to play against.

Bowls a rank full toss, his fielder take a magnificent catch in the deep and yet he celebrates like he's scored the winner in the cup final. What a knob.

That’s almost mesmerising. How on earth did he get it that wrong? It’s gun barrel straight at his off stump halfway up!

So incredibly strange. At least pad up and fake a shot behind the front leg, and hope it hits you outside the line and you get an umpire who believes that yeah, I genuinely played at it...

I've had that glitch when I played the Brian Lara cricket game

His only excuse could be if Robinson had set him up after a series of away seamers. Even then the point of getting into line to leave such a delivery would apply.

His front foot isn’t even over to off stump, let alone covering it. He cunningly took the lbw decision out of the umpires thoughts.

Original Megadrive Brian Lara. Slow full toss on the stumps to a left hander. LBW every time. Particularly good against the Windies... ☝️

What you're saying is....we ditched Saj Mahmood far too soon?
