The CHRISTMAS Thread

Walmart does Colmans mint sauce. But the online price is $11!! No idea what it cost in store.
As you say, cheaper to make your own at that price.

Mint jelly dissolved in a bit of hot water/ vinegar combo is excellent.

Mint sauce is shit. Overpowers everything. Leave it well alone. Terrible condiment.

Infuse a bit of mint into the lamb itself before you put it in the oven if you really must, but lamb should speak for itself.

It absolutely does NOT belong with anything else! Chicken and mint, pork and mint, er no. Totally the wrong flavours.

Often you're right, in this case I'm afraid you're just wrong, you'll just have to accept it😉

Lucky for me I don't have to worry about combining chicken, pork, or lamb with anything! 😂

Thankfully I couldn’t see them this year but a couple of years ago they were doing kebab meat wrapped in a giant Yorkshire pudding at the Birmingham Xmas market. I’m not totally against the idea but wtf has it got to do with Xmas.

Dunno but it has me hankering for my old favourite kebab shop / curry house down near Swindon.

Order a kebab in a naan and they chuck the elephant thigh slices on as usual but then offered the usual sauces and condiments OR a couple of spoonfuls of curry, madras or vindaloo sauce all over instead. The madras was glorious.

Not Christmassy but its a memory that just popped back into my head

I'd forgotten this was the Christmas thread, thought it was the comfort food thread.

It would if they called it Kebaby Jesus

we've been invited to xmas dinner elsewhere. I am not happy about it, but we are going, as to decline would be too much hassle (apparently - I am quite happy to tell em to get tae fuck, but y'know, families...)
Anyway, now mrs jelly is wanting to tell em to get tae fuck, because apparently they have yorkshire puddings on the xmas dinner.
Not on mine you don't. Thaat is valuable space for roast potatoes. And if it isn't space for a roast pot, then it is to be filled with pigs in blankets.
Yorkshire puds on a fucking xmas dinner. FFS, who do they think I am, bear?
Yorkshire puddings are served on their own with gravy as a 'starter'. No self respecting Yorkshire person would have Yorkshire puddings on the same plate as the dinner. My FiL had Yorkshire puddings on Xmas day.

When I stayed with my Grandparents in Sunderland as a kid, they used to serve a giant Yorkshire Pudding as a starter. It was awesome.
