The Car Thread

I think the boat tail spider gets all the love because it was in the film The Graduate, that one your neighbours got would be better built and reliable

Trying to talk the Mrs into a day out, to have a look at this beauty, she'd rather build a gym. Any hints to persuade her more than welcome?

Just going to have to go big on the positives. There’s no tax, no mot, cheap to insure, it will appreciate in value, the owners club do a lovely wine tasting weekend, it will keep you out of the pub/off the golf course/stop you watching crap on the telly/keep you from under her feet and subtly remind her she hasn’t seen her sister/best friend for a while and it would be nice for them to get together and perhaps have a spa weekend somewhere.

Lincoln is closer, cathedrals just as good, fancy shops in that part of town as well, and you can take the car through the only Roman arch in the UK you can still drive under, I (used to take a coach full of screaming kids through it every day on the the school run) medieval bishops palace just been reopened after a restoration, largest inland port in the uk was Lincoln, really nice restaurants alongside it now.
nice medieval hall in Gainsborough that’s worth a visit, and time it right you’ll see the Trent aegir it’s a tidal wave like the Severn bore but smaller.

Further out you’ve got the BBMF with the Lancaster, tattershall has a castle, the largest 1 handed clock in Europe, east Kirby air museum just up the road.

This reply bought to you by the Lincoln and Gainsborough tourist board.

Steep Hill is well named as the rest of Lincolnshire is flatter than a witch’s tit.

The highest point of the wolds is over 200 feet lower than the highest point in the chilterns which are barely a ripple in the geological carpet. Pretty but as you say not exactly Snowdonia!

Thanks for the advice, is anyone else a tad concerned that they let a well known celebrity slayer loose, with a coach full of children(no wonder they were screaming)

When I was a kid my moms partner had a Ford Escort RS turbo. White and suped up, emaculate. It was so low that it took an eternity to get anywhere with bumps, think he had to use the kerb

Looking at the prices of them now I bet he wishes he kept it! Just asked him and he sold for 10k, think I've depressed him...

No speed bumps, I guess?

There were funnily enough. We were cycling through a park and this came past very slowly. Google suggests the Diablo has a 2 inch nose lift so I guess that was enough for the smallish speed bumps. Nicest thing about that car though was the V12 soundtrack which sounded amazing even at walking pace.

A quick look on Autotrader and the only one for sale is up for £249,989

Some of the group said Louise Redknapp was in the passenger seat but I don’t know, didn’t see her myself. Did make me think of Mrs. Merton though.

“So Louise, what first attracted you to the millionaire…..”

Looks like £25000 - £40000 according to Autotrader.

Wow, I knew they were hot property but that’s serious money.

Must be the weather bringing all the toys out to play but this is Spider-man’s friend’s Mustang. Nice friendly guy, loved chatting about the motor. Beaming smile, don’t blame him, I would have too.
