Have you tried turning the phone in landscape to see if you can see any more or scroll a bit further?

Yes thanks I tried that.
Only way round it I found was to download the sky news app.
Previously I've always used Sky on the web, which I preferred.

Any good ways of getting rid of mice? Bar the obvious of getting a cat or air rifle, seen signs of them in the kitchen at home, pulled the fridge freezer and washing machine out, thinking they may be behind there, put the traps out baited with peanut butter on bread but no joy in catching them

Humane traps with Mars bar have worked for me.

We just bought some poison from Homebase. Put it down one evening and it was dead on the kitchen floor in the morning.

I know the Acme store was good for supplying items for Roadrunners, mice I'm not so sure.

The acme stuff never worked though, roadrunner always ended up getting squashed under a rock, falling of a cliff,or running into rock faces that had been painted like a tunnel

Bit of an odd one, does anyone have any experience of bathrooms for the infirm, my Mom has just come out of hospital after a stroke and we cant get her upstairs to her shower, she has a bathroom downstairs but cannot get in or out of a bath, we do have a jetwash but as shes nearly 80 and it being winter that's out of the question. I know there is companies out there but I'd heard they are massively expensive, any help appreciated,

Contact age concern, they may be able to help,or have a list of reputable companies

Paul

Agree Age Concern would bu a useful point for advice, but if you don't get anywhere then happy for you to PM me as I am a volunteer for a Charitable Company who run a shop providing equipment/advice for the disabled or elderly. Don't have detailed knowledge of equipment etc.as I look after the finances & dealings with Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC & our accountants, but staff in shop will have (particularly our Chair who has been involved for 20 yrs) so can find options. We also use approx 4 or 5 preferred suppliers all within the UK.

Maybe use a bathing cushion? (LINK) We were loaned one by Social Services when a family member needed one.

Good luck Paul.I am a carer for my mother with Parkinson's. She is now finding it difficult with getting in and out of bed, especially during the night. We have been waiting for someone to come out and assess my mom and what we need to change, and just for advice on what would be best and what is out there that we can buy to help the situation. I'm not asking for them to fork out, we will do that. It's now been 15 weeks and still no sign of anyone.

Hope you can find something that works for your mom.

PPB - must vary between areas then as Adult Social Services are fairly quick to assist down here (though the age profile for Dorset is probably well above the average UK one so they may well be geared up for it).

They should offer some help FOC & you might as well take that & then buy whatever else you need yourself. If you have no local source information point for what would help then Age Concern or the CAB will be able to help (& as said have links into that market through my volunteering & happy to act as an information aid even though I would need to make enquiries from my colleagues who know more than I do as I help the charity with different skills).
