The Advice Thread

No wonder the chap looked fucking surprised when I just gave him one!
Tbf we usually use just eat or pay by credit card. I never have any cash, so kinda makes giving a tip a bit difficult.

I just round it up if it's only a quid or two and I'm paying in notes. If I've paid by card on the phone I don't usually bother. #inconsistent

When my lad was at uni he used to deliver Chinese food to earn some cash and often got more in tips than wages especially around Christmas time

I'll just interrupt here with an update on my dull stuff, been to see the bloke who phoned yesterday, the job to start with is just delivering/collecting cars to and from dealers to other dealers countrywide,he's said I could have to collect a car from say Colchester and deliver it to Redruth, will be nights out over the four days of my rota and he was a bit cagey on who pays for the nights out,so basically I'm going to be spending my time trekking up and down motorways and sleeping in cheap rooms somewhere,if I do well at this and get good reviews of clients they'll think about training me on the breakdown side.
Told him thanks but no thanks,it's not for me,did feel he's just working his way down the list of interviewees from last year, when one leaves,he just phones the next one,so guess I'm a SEN driver for the foreseeable future then

Better the devil you know mate !

As an aside I had a Volvo on demo recently and the bloke who dropped it off had then got to make his own way from Cannock to Shifnal to collect his next car, gave him a lift to the train station and he was grateful as he would have had to walk it otherwise.

Anyone had solar panels fitted?

Arranged for a bloke from project solar to come and talk to us today. Usual sales patter

They use a company called Social Energy which means a battery is utilised along with the capability to buy / sell energy back into the grid.

Anyone had any dealings along these lines?

Feed in tarrifs are not as generous now which will affect the repayment period for the capital cost. Also worth looking at prices for the panels etc. from elsewhere - did get a quote for my house, but they were quoting approx 25% over the odds for the equipment (know that as was negotiating to put them on the school I was working for at the same time - did offer int free credit but still have to pay for them).

Didn't do it in the end as the payback period was longer than I wanted to accept (there is a need to discount most of the forward projections you will get to a degree) & the configuration of my roof on the 2 sides that get the most direct sun don't really lend themselves to sufficient panels to make it viable.

Wouldn't discount it, but you need to independently double check the figures.

We wouldn't qualify for the FIT as it's closed now but that's were looking to use Social Energy to sell back to the grid

We were quoted £15k to have the panels & battery system installed but that feels like too much

How many panels? We had 20 fitted for a shade over 9k.

Is there some kind of footballing etiquette to your own fans that you have to follow at football matches when you want to tell someone to just shut the fuck up cos they are annoying? I love where I sit but there's a bloke behind me to the right constantly shouting, and I mean shouting with a voice that grates and a face that you could cheerfully smack. He never says anything positive, and it's mostly embarrassing comments and calling all opposition ' fat bastards'

Is there any need, surely not. It's embarrassing, and makes everyone around him cringe. I've held my tongue up to now, but I'm finding it harder.

Get the seat number, write to the club. If a STH then the club will advise him accordingly. If any of his language is racial abuse then he gets a ban.

Good idea Cyber :) That way I don't take the risk of getting me yed kicked in!

Thankfully we are spared from any racial abuse. It's all the other shit that's annoying.

Thank you for advice.

Where's your seat PPB?

NL2 seat number..... Hang on, it aint you is it Johnny!

Someone got chucked out at the Man U match few rows in front of us. Stewards came, called him out, and he never returned. Then there's the lad that picks his nose eats it then bites his fingers all the way through the match. Someone new sat next to me yesterday he said ' glad I don't sit here every match '

I'm hoping that was no reflection on me :(

No PPB I sit in the SB with Booz. I wondered if it was just a fan who had a ticket for a few games as Booz and I have seen lots of different faces around us this season and different game to game.

There was a guy behind us yesterday and all he did was moan and say it was all shit. His favourite phrase was 'movement!'. I felt sorry for his wife and kids who were sat next to him. We had one or two dickheads who boo'd us at HT too. Fucking bellends.

Yeah loads of different faces this season so far, I can understand it for the EL matches but for league games it’s surprising. Mind you, the bloke from Dorset who sits in front of me didn’t even make it yesterday and he never misses a game.

No Johnny he's there every game. We are seeing more or less the same faces by us. The woman who takes her son who sits in front of us every game wasn't there yesterday, I kind of missed seeing her covering his ears up when any swear word is shouted. She doesn't tend to clap the play much as her hands are always over his ears :icon_lol:

We only get to 6 or so games a season and usually end up in the SB, we've been incredibly lucky for years now and never had any nobs by us, my worst nightmare is to have some pissed up idiot falling all over me and telling me how I should support my team

What an odd nightmare.

I've seen it happen, some dick can barely stand upright, staggering about falling on top of people, telling them "if they doe gerrup an sing, they aye proper fans"......would ruin my day
