The Advice Thread

If a will has been made then there should be someone chosen to administer the estate. That person is the executor who applies for a grant of probate which gives them the authority to administer.

Probate ends when all expenses, debts, taxes, etc., and all inheritance paid.

If you are the executor it’s a good idea to open a separate bank account for the purpose of administering the estate. When you pull in all the assets of the estate into that account and pay out any expenses or taxes and indeed the inheritances when you get to that point it keeps it neat and tidy and well away from your personal finances. All banks should be happy to help you set up an executor account with sight of the will to prove you are in that position.

Just spotted this in the man cave. About the size of a golf ball. Leaving it isn’t an option and don’t really want to massacre what’s inside but not taking any prisoners on this one. At least it’s still small.

Any thoughts on the best way to deal with this?

I had to remove 2 of them from my shed last week.
I used a drinking glass and a coaster to trap it, put the glass over it, then slid the coaster over-the-counter mouth of the glass, then I took it down our local park and released it.

Nah, went hardcore.

Convinced the little bastard will get me back when walking my dog there shortly though.

Kill it with fire!!!

Nooo, I put the nest gently in the fork of a couple of tree branches and left it be coz I’m nice like that. Only saw the one wasp which took off like an asylum seeker.

Think I’d have shat myself if there’d been more.

Kill it with fire!!!
Heard a neighbour of mine saying his son found a huge one in a disused dog kennel on his driveway, sprayed it with a whole can of hairspray then threw a match at it.....
Spectacular didn't quite cover it! Like world war II, little fuckers on fire dive bombing the burning remains of the kennel....
Gruesome!

I had a wasp nest just underneath the roof between the wall and gutter at the top of the house, just out of sight. Could see loads of the yellow bastards going in and out there though.

Called a local bloke out who sprayed the entrance to the nest with a powder that has tiny sharp edges on each particle, which kills them by sticking to the body as they go in and out, cutting them to shreds. Death by a thousand cuts. Cost £80 a few years ago but worth it as I had no chance of getting to up to it.

Put some petrol in an old fairy liquid bottle. A few squirts and the jobs done and they dont come back.
Works with wasps nests, ants, and specially good for termites.

I've been using a high end amplifier in my workshop for a couple of years. (Harmon Kardon) but decided to go back to a much simpler NAD amp I had in my attic doing nothing.
Great for two weeks then, yesterday, I get this consistent humming.
Stays steady regardless of more or less volume.
Tried all the connections, buttons, combinations etc no use.
Took the speaker leads out of the back, cut them off and made new ones nice and clean.
As I put them in this happened....
Live lead left speaker, in. OK.
Neutral lead left speaker in ... humming.
Live lead Right speaker in OK
Neutral lead right speaker in humming twice as loud!

Is my amp fucked?
Is it the speakers?

Any one any ideas please?

I'm not a speaker expert by any means, but hums, when on a guitar, tend to signify either earthing issues or its picking up interference form another electrical object or circuit, sorry couldn't be more help

Is it too much faff to try it in a different power outlet, maybe even a different circuit if possible? Could be dirty power
