Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Some rumours that Man City have pulled out of the Cucurella deal and they've been linked with Aït-Nouri, could be another source of funds.
 
Brighton want £50m+ for Cucurella and aren't shifting their stance, so City are looking at other possibilities.

I think he's ready. Bruno has held him back this last season with our non-attacking style of play.

RAN would be ideal for Pep.

Still makes a few too many mistakes defensively for me, think for the majority of the time he'd get away with it at City as they'd do less defending in general but could still be an issue in big games.

Dendoncker would fetch around £20m if we sold him, plus moving on someone like Sanderson for 4-5m and you are halfway there. To think that we couldn’t manage the rest is madness.

You wouldn't sell the 4-5 players it would take to bring in one when we have a number of other areas we also need to strengthen. To expect Wolves to be spending circa 45m on Nunes whilst retaining Neves under the current model is "madness" it's wildly unrealistic.

That’s 2 players, both of whom would be surplus to requirements if Nunes came in. As for the number of areas to strengthen I think the biggest area is central midfield, if we are more athletic and creative in that area it fixes a lot of the issues we have.

Yeah but as you pointed out those 2 players only get you half way there. I would love to be wrong but I just don't think it's at all feasible with the way the club are doing things.
 
We're not selling Sanderson for anything like £4-5m. Those days are gone.

I think we'd be very lucky to get £20m for Donk.

The rest is easily achievable from the profit we made, It’s not that there is no money just that they don’t seem to be spending the money we have but that is a different argument all together.

I suppose that even with all the evidence or the last 2 years, I still have a glimmer of hope that it’s all part of a plan. Probably completely stupid on my part.

Quite right. Jeff Shi has chosen this model and the reason he keeps getting flack is because of this and he deserves every ounce of it.
 
We still need to clear out dead wood like Cutrone and Bonatini, they won't fetch much but it will at least get them off the wage bill. Now that we can't farm half of them out to Grasshoppers maybe we'll actually trim the squad in ways that help.
