Summer 2022 Transfer Window

The last time I got excited was when we signed Fabio Silva. I don’t get excited about signings any more.
Interesting. That's when I began to be concerned that we were run by people who didn't know what they were doing and Hubris Jeff first made an appearance

€40m for Vitinha.
Jeff & co working up an impressive collection of shite business deals.

What was the agreed price we had for Vitinha literally less than a year ago? £18m wasn’t it? Doubled his price in a year but wasn’t deemed good enough for a contract here.

Top stuff.

Nuno is getting a very easy ride here

Might not have doubled in value at Wolves though.

Nuno fucked up by not giving him minutes. You could see he had ability, but Nuno was blinded by pragmatism.

The whole point in the DoF model is that recruitment and footballing strategy has a macro ethos, and not the season-by-season philosophy that managers will naturally err towards.

Having the option to sign that boy for c£15m and turning it down will go down as one of the worst decisions made in the Fosun era, and there's quite a fucking selection.

And before anybody comes at me with hindsight nonsense, I was saying that signing him was no brainer even at the time.

My excitement about the Fabio signing was purely down to the fact I’d signed him for Wolves on FM Mobile and he was amazing. I had no idea if he was actually any good 🤣

It was less than that I think, it was 18m but that included the loan fee we paid anyway. Not sure you can blame the owners though, the player didn’t want to come here because he was left kicking his heels.

Premier league teams are now pretty much linked with every young Portuguese, and most of those are linked directly or indirectly to Jorge.

I think it’s clear that Jorge has got what he needed from us - a bridgehead to take over premier league talent supply lines, and we are now surplus to requirements.

This means Jeff and Scott are basically on their own and having very little experience and very few connections mean that they, quite literally, don’t know what they’re doing.

C'mon mate, it's not like the Portuguese league was a little known backwater

Boro in talks to sign Ryan same-level-as-Aït-Nouri Giles on loan.

Bang goes our Giles to the lump up front when chasing a game plan

Another one we should be looking to sell if we aren't going to use him. We're not learning anything from him getting farmed out to different Championship clubs, we know he can play at that level and what his skillset is. Either find some kind of role for him with the first team (even if it's mostly off the bench) or sell while there's still ages left on his deal.
