Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Was that Hulk at the start of the video? Get them both in!

Doesn’t look any slower than he ever was tbh.

Doesn’t need to be quick anyway. Just be someone we can play into and show desire to get onto things in the box.

Scoring record had been poor since he left Chelsea but can't say that I've much, if any, of him in that period to know if he's doing much else. If he's still capable of occupying defenders and actually up for it then might be a useful stop gap, his mentality could actually be a good addition to the group, proper single minded determination.

Found it interesting in that respect before kick off in the United game earlier. Camera went into the Arsenal huddle and the two people talking were Jesus and Zinchenko. Now I'd assume they were fairly peripheral characters in the City squad but imagine they have a very different mindset from that club than the general air around Arsenal in recent years.

Not played since January? So seems unlikely he'll be ready to go but there aren't exactly any other options out there.

My concern is that we aren't good enough to play with a striker who's primarily just going to be poaching around the box.

He’s not going to be doing exclusively doing that. Play into his feet.

The way I see it, he’s going to be slightly less mobile than Raul but more physical, better mentality and better penalty area threat. This is all in theory obviously.

Costa?…..I’m normally Mr Positive, but I can’t see this ending well.

We’ve spent the window going for quality and this isn’t what we need atm.

If we play into his feet by the time he gets into the box our wingers would have needed to be Ait Nouri on steroids, beating their man over and over until they can deliver. He's miles less mobile than Raul, the rest of it is bang on and if we can create for him he'd score a few.

We have to hope he has a degree of fitness and some fire left and it's not just Uncle Jorge trying to get a pay day. I don't believe he would fly all this way just to be told to fuck off. I'm sure the players would get on with him so the suitability bit should be ok.

Why are we not playing into his feet on the edge of the area?

We’re supposed to be trying to “control games”. His mobility is an issue if we’re playing counter attack into his feet on the half way line. Even then if he puts Neto or Guedes in (or lays it off for a CM to do so) to cross to the opposite side for a tap or score themselves then he’s done his bit.

The game doesn’t need to be played at 100mph all the time.

I would imagine he’s not the most mobile now but even if we’re counter attacking all we need him to do is hold the ball up and bring others into it. Even if he’s 70/80% of what he was at Chelsea he’ll help and we have to hope he can get there.

I did say it was a serious mistake to send Silva out on loan. Unfortunately I have been proved right.
Not really. We kept Fabs then we don't sign Sasa. So Fabs plays games and could easily get injured and he we are in the same situation. Rather than be proved right, Wolves have just been unlucky.

I don't think you were. Look at his goals for Anderlecht, we don't play balls in behind like that. We didn't last year and so far haven't this year either. The 20 goals he'll score for them in the next year will benefit both Wolves and him more than being here would. Whether that's to play in the future or get some of the investment back time will tell
