Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Kinda makes me think the club aren't hugely confident around Jimenez
That or they feel they really need 2 options. They are having to move from a target man alternative to an utter bastard one but beggers can't be choosers...

He's not played football for 8 months, so even if he has something which I doubt he does then you are looking at October before you can use him.
We’ll be looking for him to start 3pm Saturday.

If Costa is anywhere near match fit we take him every single day of the week. Absolutely no way a club of our size and position turns down an opportunity to have someone like Diego Costa playing up top.

I've seen some people quoting the "no dickhead" policy at the club. From what i read about the guy he's an amazing team mate. It was just any other player outside the club he had a problem with..:ROFLMAO:
That's what I've read. The Roy Keane factor.

He'll be an absolutely nightmare to play against but my feeling is he'll be as mobile as Brexit voters.

He's probably not what he was, but if he's anywhere near wouldn't we want him as an option off the bench? He'd scare the shit out of defenders, and probably more because he'd flatten them if they fouled him..lol

Yeah his legs have gone, saw it at Atletico. People are going to be really disappointed if they are expecting even 30% of the player Chelsea had.

As long as his feet and his head haven’t gone he’ll do a job.

His legs haven’t “gone” at all.

But you’re right, he last played for Chelsea 5 years ago so his game would have changed to accommodate getting older - but the same can be said for pretty much every professional footballer as their careers progress.

I actually thought he looked like he’d lost a bit of weight last time I saw him!

Most importantly, he knows where the back of the net is.

Duplicate post so I might as well edit it and throw in a link to a video showing Costa’s most recent season highlights.

How often have you watched him in the last 2 years?

Whenever I did he barely moved and when he did move it was tortoise paced. How much of that was him just not being arsed vs his physical ability, who knows.

Clearly he's nowhere near match fit then, because dozens of clubs around the world like us have turned him down. That's why he's not playing for any one.

We can't really afford not to try him though now.

Playing devils advocate, how much have you watched him?

If you have access to the Brazilian league then kudos to you sir. I’d imagine none of us know if his ‘legs have gone’ unless people who follow la liga vividly - however could be anything from the odd game/niggle etc

His legs may well have gone, to be honest, I have no idea and I’m sure time will tell. He’s 34 in October, I don’t see why he couldn’t do a job for a mid table prem team but time will tell.

I watch La Liga a fair amount as I don't really watch anything but sport so I was basing it on his games for Atletico Madrid rather than his time in Brazil.
