Summer 2022 Transfer Window

But there isn't a huge drop off.

If we have loads of injuries all at the same time then we'll be fucked won't we, like every club ever.
A suspension and injury at CB mean we'll have to play Mosquera who we all collectively don't think is read. I'd prefer to have denayer / Dawson as that option and send Mosquera out on loan. We get a better player for our first team and Mosquera gets proper football experience.

You don't think Yerson Mosquera is capable of playing one game here and there?

Craig Dawson FFS.

Not really, I'd rather he get some more experience under his belt like Gomes.

I'd feel more comfortable with Dawson in there than Mosquera. In the same way I'd rather have AMN rather than Ronan.

Just my view brother, peace out

'Squad depth' is such a red herring, why do people want to sign players to sit on our bench?
I get what your saying. I'm not overly concerned about defence as Toti & Mosquera should be capable and I am definitely pleased we didn't spend money on Dawson. Our midfield still looks a bit light though as we have been playing with 3 midfielders and we only seem to have Traore (or Ronan) as back up for all of them.

It's only a minor grumble from me. I am more concerned about us having a competent manager now.

I've seen him for Portugal and never been impressed.

I've not been keen for us either so far, very early days of course and we are set up appallingly.
Think he’s been a bit unlucky personally that we aren’t set up great and the circumstances he’s played in haven’t been great for him.

Fulham - we were all over the place when he came on and he struggled to get up to the pace

Spurs - was our best player in the first half and was unlucky he lost his footing twice when he in good positions.

Newcastle - helped Semedo/Jonny out a lot defensively, did well for the Neves goal and unlucky Neto couldn’t finish earlier on.

Bournemouth - Hard work on the left as Jonny was a possession chasm, either ran it our of play or couldn’t control it. So we pretty much attacked exclusively down the right until the subs were made.

He does remind me a bit of Jota though in the fact that he’s not a winger in this league, we have to get him narrow off the left which means RAN or Bueno have to play behind him for the width. Also think he along with every other player would benefit from us playing with a 10 to take up the spaces behind the striker or we just go back to the horseshoe of doom and struggle to break teams down.

Personally I'd like to see him as the 10, that way you can get Neto back onto his best side.

We haven't really thought that one through. Our 2 first choice wingers are both significantly poorer on the right side.

I thought Guedes was good off the right side. Pod is better off the right too.

Not so sure on any of them in the 10 role. Pod is the best but he's so poor in front of goal.

Lage might do something batshit such as playing 4-4-2 with Sasa the deep lying forward.

Big man in the #10 role, Kenny Jackett's wet dream.

Why do think he is?
Signed as a developmental player, who a year later due to injuries hasn't done any developing and mainly played full back in pre season. Needed to go on loan, rather than not play for us or play and be thrown into a sink or swim environment. Gomes should be our 4th choice, we are missing the 3rd. That doesn't mean it should have been Craig Dawson, but I don't think a 3rd option would see themselves as a bench player who would never play. They will get a chance as one of the first 2 will get injured or suspended and then it'd be up to them to keep their place

Net spend of about £50m excluding add ons, options etc. About £30m more than I thought It would be so no complaints on that front.

Players brought in on paper are quality and the first 11 with a decent manager could be better than at any time under Fosun

Coady deal stupid unless there's something we don't know

MGW a shame and hurts us on the pitch imo, but necessary

Squad smaller than before, but net losses are players who weren't good enough

Short at centre half

Too slow to bring in a forward

On balance a decent window

Smaller but better squad overall as you said. I'd rather have 16 players who could all start than having 23 and 10 of them you wouldn't want to be playing more than 1/2 games. Everything else is spot on bar the Coady thing.

I don't see the issue with it personally, it's an obligation based on appearances/staying up. He'll easily hit the appearances and Everton will stay up so that's as good as confirmed.

We may have got a bit less than we should but in a world that's completely cut-throat I like the fact we've been fair with a bloke who is a modern day club legend.

I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere, just speculation unless you have a link?

Sacrilege!!

Sky have just shown a list of Forest's 21 signings and one of them was Hwang.
Either that's a mistake, or there is another Hwang in the PL?

I say just send him there anyway. They'll never notice.
