Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Net spend of about £50m excluding add ons, options etc. About £30m more than I thought It would be so no complaints on that front.

Players brought in on paper are quality and the first 11 with a decent manager could be better than at any time under Fosun

Coady deal stupid unless there's something we don't know

MGW a shame and hurts us on the pitch imo, but necessary

Squad smaller than before, but net losses are players who weren't good enough

Short at centre half

Too slow to bring in a forward

On balance a decent window

My only criticism is Nunes and Sasa came a bit too late, but at least they’re here and hopefully we can grab a win on Saturday.

I wasn't talking about you personally it's some of the comments I have read, we have done, in my opinion a excellent window. But some people will never be happy.
Ah - then we are singing from the same hymn sheet!

You can’t really fault the window too much.

Not selling Hwang is just bizarre. The outcome of the Coady transfer we will have to see. Would have liked a CB of any description just to facilitate Mosqueras development, but it’s not a big issue. Chance of Collins or Kilman missing more than one game out of the next 10 is extremely slim.

Seeing people complain about the Donck transfer for that fee is weird. “Should have got £25m for him” LOL.

Cleared out loads of trash, got decent fees in, signed some good players on paper in the key positions. Just need someone to actually get a tune out of them.

We could pay up Hwangs contract and make him a free agent?

I think the vast majority are happy with the signings and outgoings, on balance.

We don't like the manager though as he's rubbish.

8/10. Three excellent first XI players that makes us a better side (theoretically).

If we can replace Donk and Boly then it's 9/10.

If we can still get rid of Hwang then 10/10!!
8.5 it is then.

Excellent window. Just need to do it on the pitch now.

So summary is roughly (before any addons):

In:

Hwang €14m (option made permanent)
Collins €25m
Guedes €32m
Nunes €45m
Kalajdzic €18m
Traore LOAN

Total: €134m

Out:

Ruddy €0m
Marcal €0m
Saiss €0m
Vinagre €10.4m
Coady LOAN
Gibbs-White €29m
Boly €2.6m
Dendoncker €15m

Total: €57m

Net spend: €77m. (€80m ish)

Pretty good business for 4 first team starters and a squad player.

Just easier as they are almost all quoted in nice round numbers in Euros.

Top window, for my money. Markedly improved the first 11, and generally gave the squad the sort of freshening up it's been crying out for for years, with some big wages off the books. If we're minded to bring in Denayer tomorrow for a bit of CB depth I won't be complaining, but pretty made up with it as it stands.

Over to Bruno now...
