Podence’s main problem seems to be he gets lots of injuries. Not sure whether it’s bad luck or he has a low pain threshold like Sturridge. Having seen him go down squealing like he’s been shot from barely any contact I suspect it’s the latter. When fit and staying on his feet he’s a great asset but sadly that’s rarely the case so if we could get our money back I’d let him go even though he isn’t in the “I’d drive him there myself” category.

His issue might be style rather than standard?
He’s part of the problem though.

And it’s not like we’re hoof ball merchants/a physical team and he can’t press. So not exactly sure what style he would be seeking.

Well he's all silly flicks and first time passes, they invariably go nowhere because no-one in Wolves' team moves. If there was more movement around him he might get more joy playing in that fashion.

He'll never be a world beater but I think his biggest issue at Wolves is he's probably the most removed from the rest of the squad in terms of the amount of high risk stuff he attempts. Other teams would embrace that far more than the current Wolves team and he might fit in better as a result.

Podence is an irritating twat at times with poor decision making and shithousery but he's one of the few players we have who is prepared to take risk in trying to create chances.
I'm happy if he wants to stay but if he wants to leave, I'm not that bothered.

Apparently Podence wants to leave. Reliable source but second hand info to me.

Whether that means he actually will or not who knows. Not sure who in Europe would want him at the fee required to get our money back.
Source?

I am sure he won’t be the only one. That’s ok. Change is needed and change can be good. As long as any money goes to bringing new people in I am ok with it.

I know podence is incredibly frustrating to watch but I feel he is one of the few players we have who can actually create something.... occasionally
Yep, and having that flair and that ability to be able to do something different that both Podence and Adama have is important to stop a team being easy to play against...

Yeah but he’s a player who offers literally nothing off the ball and isn’t a massive goal threat. So those players need to either be really good or play in farmers leagues.

One of Podence’s frequently injured feet would cover that. The other can cover the no-doubt incoming season ticket rise.

Like I said to begin with, he isn't good enough to be someone that you build a team around. Though he's often the focal point of Wolves attacks such is the paucity of movement from pretty much everyone else.

I do, however, think he'd look better in another team with more like minded players around him. He'd still lose possession loads but if his hit rate on fancy flicks and blind passes is currently 1 in 10 at Wolves it maybe drops to 1 in 5 at a Leeds or Brighton or similar. He wouldn't by any means elevate them from a lower midtable team to one fighting for Europe but he's going to at least fit in there better than he does at Wolves.

He is definitely the best of the lot this year but that’s a pretty low bar. I’ve always liked him but there’s too many flaws to his game to hang your hat on him and his availability hasn’t been great.

On the second paragraph we will likely never find out as those teams don’t sign average “playmakers” who don’t run around/put themselves about/press

I do think we are a better team with him in it but yeah it’s a low bar from an attacking point of view. I think he mostly benefits from being so much less predictable than the others.

he definitely doesn’t like how much he gets kicked. Has complained about it on social media before.

Decent player who’d been good in a team who dominates games properly but he wouldn’t get in a team for a good one in this league.
