Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Really unsure on Moffi after watching a video of his. Just get the feeling he doesn't have a great first touch or particularly good ball control. And that's his highlights.

For £22m or similar we could get Ajorque and he looked better to my eyes.

Thought similar on Moffi from a couple of videos, few of his take ons seemed quite fortunate sort of knocking into another player and getting a fortunate ricochet back off his own shins. Looked more competent knocking the ball into space and chasing it, completely bullying pretty much anyone in his way to get back on the end of it. Seemed to strike the ball cleanly enough when shooting though and some good examples of bringing others into play, good awareness of what else was going on around him.

Unlike you though I had exactly the same reservations about Ajorque from a few clips of him, touch wasn't always the slickest which you'd think will be punished more readily by better defenders. Lacks the athletic abilities of Moffi to offset that and obviously significantly less longevity from someone of his age too.

we have a young striker, what we need now is a striker ready for action, to replace Jiminez
So that would potentially leave us with Fabio, an unknown quantity and a striker who may or may not be past his prime, depending on who (if?) we purchase in this window.

And if one of those two were to get injured, what does that leave us with?

I really feel that 2 new strikers is shrewd.

Football clubs just don't work like that. There is no way that we have 3 strikers with a further one out on loan, especially when only playing 1 up top.

If on the rarest of occasions Jiminez and a new striker are injured at the same time then Guedes and Hwang can fill in up front.

They do if one of our new signings slots straight into the U23s

I'm interested and looking forward to see Raul in this team. Raul in the last couple of years has dropped so deep to pick up the ball hence why is outlet has been minimal. However with the new lads in and the new style, I do believe you'll see a better Raul, a Raul that doesn't have to drop deep to try and influence play. Raul I'm sure is going to love actually being that box player again because the pressure is being taken off him with Guedes and fully fit Neto and Nunes being that player that will finally link midfield and the forward line without going wide all the time.

Name a club that has done that.

In fact name a club that has 3 strikers in the top flight, two of which will be on the bench.

Percy saying Everton tried to hijack the deal at the last minute and matched Forest's offer, but ultimately MGW wanted to play for Steve Cooper again and the deal with Forest was too far down the line.
Yes, that will be penniless Everton who had to bodge the Premier League's COVID financial rules in order to get away with spectacular failing of FFP.

You do have to wonder with them sometimes.

Do you want players who can 'fill in' or 'do a job' in a position? That usually means they aren't really very good at that job, and in Hwang's case just not very good. Surely a better policy is to have players who can play the position well rather than just 'fill in'? It doesn't mean having more players than you need for a position, it means having enough good players for a position to cope should injuries, tactical situations etc require it. Different forwards with different skill sets for different opponents? And competition for places often raises the standard of play. Filling in and doing a job are terms that should be consigned to the bin, because they mean you haven't had the foresight to build a squad properly IMO.

You want me to name a club that has a promising striker in their U23s?

Clubs with much bigger squads/resources than us and far more success have players filling in all the time

Do you want to sign a player for our U21's not the first team? Currently our U21 is on loan as the standard of U21 isn't good.

Most clubs only have 2 senior center forwards unless they play 2 up top, which I think only Soton do.

But it looks like you meant to sign 2 forwards to compete with Raul, unless I have that wrong?

2 new strikers is a waste of money. We play with 1 forward currently. We sign a first team striker to compete with Raul and the third striker we bring in barely plays. That 3rd striker is either someone who's young with potential which will be stifled by not playing or someone who's willing to come and sit on the bench. Anyone who's coming to wolves who is happy to sit on the bench behind 2 strikers is likely to be shit.

Interesting that that PCLOSS guy says the alternatives to Moffi are 'a few homegrown players'. Which homegrown players can we think of with a similar profile to Moffi?

Brereton-Diaz is one surely.

i'd guess Broja is homegrown too as it looks like he was born in england and came through Chelsea's academy

edit. We've been linked with Ivan Toney in previous windows too, although i'd imagine that would require a small fortune and more than likely is a non-starter

Did see there was potential interest in Che Adams a while ago.

Doesn't score anything like enough goals and frequently goes on long barren runs. Wouldn't be especially cheap either. No thanks.

Edit: Adams that is

I know nothing about Evanilson (not to say this guy on twitter is reliable he just seems to be enjoying the limelight). I’m sure Lycan will let us know if he’s any good!
Portuguese clubs and other clubs being involved is a royal pain. Benfica signing the lad from Braga (to replace Ramos), all agreed and I thought the hold up was because the replacement Braga want was difficult to secure but its because Malaga own 67% of his sale value and Braga now not happy with that so trying to get them to lower their %. Horta taking the matter to FIFA as well.
Horta is set to play his 2nd game since his emotional goodbye 2 weeks ago
