Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Yup. The team assembled by Nuno has not been great to watch for two to three seasons now. Give the guy a chance to bring some new blood in and make his mark on the team and then decide. He's already stated that he's forced to play the way he is because he doesn't have the personnel to work in the formation he prefers.

The last sentences is a complete cop out.

This isn't Norwich turning up for their biennial go still with Grant Hanley and Max Aarons leading the charge.

Lage inherited a squad that has finished 7th, reached a European quarter final and domestic semi final in recent years.

He's been let down by the clowns running the show in terns of recruitment but it was entirely his decision to go to West Ham and unfurl a white flag etc etc

He hasn't got his hands tied behind his back, he's the one who starts wank full backs and then complains about substituting them when the better player on the bench is invariably needed, he continues starting Hwang despite all the evidence being clear of what he is.

Even if he tweaked the front three and had Hwang and Silva in a two I could recognise he was trying something different but we try the same shit that doesn't work week after week and expect different results. You could make that change without sacrificing the defensive/midfield players if you're so certain they can only play one way.

Complete revisionism to say Nuno's football was rubbish for 'two and a half seasons' I'm afraid.

And we're awful to watch by and large now anyway. Lage could fix that and he doesn't.

Strange to see people saying Potter is a good manager, and that they'd be above us with a good striker.

Where would we be with a good striker? Because Raul hasn't been that this season has he?

Also haven't Brighton gone an extraordinary amount of time without scoring at home? A (fair) stick to beat Lage with has been our lack of goals, yet some would prefer Potter!? Odd.

Difference being that Brighton create chances and Maupay is rubbish.

We don't create much when we decided to defend/ contain from the off as we do too often away from home. That's on Lage.

Against Leeds and Watford we've proved we can play attacking football.

Our issue isn't just about the striker. Our central strikers are often feeding off scraps. There's been a number of home games this season where we've been well into the 2nd half and the keeper may as well have his deck chair with him. Playing the lone striker role for Wolves is a thankless task a lot of the time as the support around them is pretty terrible.

Although this doesn't tell the full story Brighton are having 6 more touches per game in the opponents box than Wolves and it works out to 172 more over the season so far which I'd say is highly significant.

Agree with this, although up till the Newcastle games, thought we had started to get more people forward and get people in the box more often, that's what was so frustrating.

Interesting stat. It’s our style of play that means we don’t have many touches in the box. We play lots of ‘neat and tidy’ football between both boxes, but only on a handful of occasions do we get numbers in the box.our central striker is often isolated, and with a midfield of Moutinho and neves they aren’t going to make runs into the box. With our 343 we tend to okay the two either side of the central striker need to get closer to him imo with the wing backs offering the width

Has he? Or is that just your projection?
Fwiw I do think it's the case, but if he's pissed off perhaps he should stop rolling over and having his belly tickled every window?
As for Nuno's squad
Marcal, RAN, Kilman and Cundle rarely played. Jonny practically didn't for the last year.
Sa, Trincao, Hwang weren't here.
So "Nuno's squad" consists of the likes of Moutinho, Neves, Coady, Podence and a few others

How many managers can actually stand up to the club's owners and not get sacked? Especially ones of Bruno's calibre? It's alright saying 'getting his belly tickled' but what can he realistically do about it without putting his job in serious danger?

Don't moan about it the other 10 months of the year then

Is he moaning though or are we just interpreting a single sentence in every interview as 'that's a dig at the board', firstly I'm sure he was put in the picture regarding spending at the outset and secondly if any employee was to take grievances literally into the public, several times, intentionally, I'm sure he'd be gone by now?

There was a reference to Manchester United under Ole. He was never getting the sack after finishing second but when the wheels fell off he was dispatched. Lage isn’t likely to be sacked with the results we have achieved and a top ten finish. Recruiting has been generally poor. We have a defence that only works well in a 3, Three first team ready midfield players, none of whom score regularly enough, a front three that no one fears and a bench that doesn’t inspire the confidence to change anything. Now that applied equally to Nuno and Bruno. If Lage is staying give him the funds to change it how he wants too.

I would just like to point out I think Brighton are overrated and my thing here is saying that. No one needs to reply, just want people to remember my brand and what my thing is...
