Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Signing another forward is not an admission of anything other than seeing we do need a different type of option among the attackers.

We do need another striker. I'd say it's less important that a CM and CB but we still need someone to come in as I have no faith Silva is going to be ready to play the starting role and it could go wither way with Raul.

Like I say CM and CB are the more important priorities. Striker is nice to have after those are resolved.

We need a number of positions because as things stand this is how many seasons our first choice 11 have been here

That's what happens if you ignore the team for a number of years

You can't necessarily get players in the order of need, you do deals as they become viable. If they see a striker that fits what they want, should they wait it out until they get a CB and CM first? That would be a stupid way to do business, but again nothing surprises me with the way we do things now.

More talk of Mendes trying to get Neves to Barca. Would be the worst possible deal for us as it would be for a couple of their cast offs and some kind of instalment plan that basically means we don’t get any money

Gerard Romero saying Mendes met with Laporta and offered Neves for €85M.

If we REALLY want to sell Neves and REALLY need that money to fund anything else then we need to get real over his value. Nobody is paying north of £70m

I’ve said before I think neves would go for £25 million, Jeff would see that as good business with a £10 million profit, I know collectively we’d lose our minds, be firing up the flaming torches, getting the pitchforks out the shed and organising where to meet outside the Molineux.

Not a chance.

I don't think Barcelona have any interest at all.

The more stupid way would be to ignore the pressing priorities for the fifth year in a row.

Nobody is suggesting to ignore pressing priorities though, just saying it doesn't really matter what order the players are signed in..

How pressing it is depends on how much romantic hope you have that Raul is going to become the player he was two years ago when he'd have been at his natural peak anyway. When push comes to shove I don't think either Raul or Fabio are fit for purpose as a first choice number 9 at a club with top ten ambitions, unfortunately. We need a first team ready striker, just as we need a first team ready CD and CM. I don't care what order they come in tbf, but if we get to September without them then we're in for another wank season of bungling our way to 45-50 points

We should be all over Broja

He's looks really good but they'd be wanting stupid money for him and we just aren't going to spend that on another striker considering the outlay there already. As much as I'd like to see him here.

Think the talk of Broja going out is only on loan at the moment anyway.
